JUST IN: 19-Year-Old ARRESTED For Attempted Arson At Republican Committee HQ in Michigan

On Saturday, the Dickinson County Republican Committee Headquarters in Iron Mountain, MI was attacked, apparently by a deranged leftist angry at President Trump.

Police have identified the suspect as 19-year-old Zayn Arcand. He is being charged for an arson attempt.

UPDATE: 19-year-old accused of throwing Molotov cocktail at Dickinson County Republican Committee headquarters

19-year-old Zayn Arcand appeared for his arraignment via Zoom Monday afternoon.

He is charged with manufacturing and possessing an explosive and arson.

The Iron Mountain Police Department said in a press release that Arcand tried to burn down a building containing the Dickinson County Republican Committee’s office in Iron Mountain on Saturday with a Molotov cocktail.

Zayn Arcand threw two molotov cocktails at the building to send an anti-Trump message, but thankfully his “incompetence” prevented much damage from being done.

Authorities apprehended a suspect after an attempted attack on the Dickinson County Republican Committee headquarters in Iron Mountain Michigan Saturday afternoon.

Two “Molotov cocktails” were ignited and thrown at the building which houses multiple businesses including the Republican headquarters.

Authorities reported that the attack was due to displeasure with the current administration. The attack was unsuccessful due to incompetence of the suspect and no significant damage was done.

The Dickinson County Republican Committee is extremely thankful for the quick action of the Iron Mountain Police Department. We hope that the suspect is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

We are grateful to God that no one was injured and continue to pray for all involved.

Basically, Zayn tried to light the molotov cocktail but failed to ignite it before throwing it at the building.

On Saturday, July 12 around 4 p.m., a witness called in to report an individual, later identified as Zayn Arcand, attempting to light a rag sticking out of a glass bottle, then throwing the unlit bottle at a building.

After reviewing footage in the area, officers confirmed the witness’s account. They further said that the subject threw the unlit bottle at the window, causing it to shatter. A second glass bottle was located in the parking lot as well, which contained an unknown liquid and had a rag sticking out of the top.

Officers identified Arcand and located him at his home. There, he admitted to making the bottles in his driveway and throwing the bottles at the building hoping to “send a message against the corruption.” Arcand was hoping what he made was flammable and would ignite, said the police.
