A tax cut and spending bill currently being considered on Capitol Hill is facing pushback from Democrats and a handful of Republicans even as President Donald Trump continues pushing for its passage.
Now the White House is taking its case directly to the American people with a new online tool that allows taxpayers to figure out exactly how much they’re estimated tax savings would be under the framework of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
The website was just launched on Tuesday and provides a variety of customizable options.
According to Fox News:
The new site features a calculator that tabulates the tax savings Americans can expect if the legislation passes. The calculator asks users to input their weekly base pay, weekly tip amount and weekly overtime premium pay to determine the savings.
Fox News Digital found that an individual, for example, receiving $665 in weekly pay, $260 in tips and $100 in overtime premium pay would translate to $2,246 in yearly savings and $187 in monthly savings.
If a person takes home $200 a week in base pay, $400 in tips and $200 in overtime, they would see $2,954 in yearly savings and $246 in monthly savings, Fox Digital found. The “big beautiful bill” would eliminate taxes on overtime and tips, which were two focal points of Trump’s tax policies as he rallied voters at the polls in 2024.
The new website also touts more than 1,000 endorsements from American industries and organizations, including support from businesses such as Uber and DoorDash.
Support for the Trump-backed tax cuts has been a common theme on social media:
This One, Big Beautiful Bill solidifies @POTUS’ 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, delivering lasting relief for the American people.

The One Big Beautiful Bill proposes tax cuts for all income groups, with the middle class reaping the most significant benefits.
Meanwhile, the top 1% sees minimal change.

Crazy Nancy says the One Big Beautiful Bill is "about tax cuts for the wealthiest people."
That lie doesn't work when it's the largest tax cut in American history targeted squarely at working Americans.

“IF WE DON’T GET IT, THAT MEANS THE DEMOCRATS WILL HAVE STOPPED US AND THAT MEANS PEOPLE GET A 68% TAX INCREASE, THE LARGEST IN HISTORY. IF WE DO GET IT, WE’RE GOING TO HAVE THE LARGEST TAX DECREASE IN HISTORY.” – @POTUS on the spending bill. pic.twitter.com/E1fFxzY7VK

The spending side of the legislation, however, has attracted criticism from Trump’s own party, including from Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).
As CNBC reported, the president addressed Paul’s concerns with a direct statement:
Trump lashed out soon after, writing on Truth Social that the senator “has very little understanding” of the budget plan that the president has dubbed the “one big, beautiful bill.”
Trump said Paul does not grasp that the bill, which includes a slew of tax and spending cuts but is projected to significantly widen national deficits, will spur “tremendous GROWTH.”
“He loves voting ‘NO’ on everything, he thinks it’s good politics, but it’s not,” Trump said of the senator.
In a follow-up post, Trump attacked Paul in more personal terms.
He “never has any practical or constructive ideas,” Trump wrote, adding, “His ideas are actually crazy (losers!). The people of Kentucky can’t stand him. This is a BIG GROWTH BILL!”
