Boom! Major layoffs hit Disney this Monday.
Who could’ve seen that coming?
And this is across numerous departments.
Is this because the company is doing so amazingly well, as CEO Bob Iger likes to say?
“Our renewed focus on quality over quantity has also resulted in outstanding critical success,” Iger said, noting that the company won a record-breaking 60 Emmy® Awards, led by Shōgun and The Bear.Mar 20, 2025
Whoa! They won some Emmy awards? Big flippin’ deal. Investors don’t care about that. They care about the cash flow.

Deadline reports:
Major layoffs are underway Monday the Walt Disney Company, with several hundred employees impacted globally, Deadline has learned. The bulk of them are across divisions of Disney Entertainment, including marketing for both film and television as well as television publicity, casting and development. Also affected are Disney’s corporate financial operations.
According to sources, the size of the cuts on the film and TV side of Disney Entertainment is comparable. No teams are being eliminated. The majority of the Disney Entertainment Television staffers are said to be based in Los Angeles. Deadline will continue its coverage as more details about those impacted emerge during what is expected to be a tough day on the Disney campuses.
This is the fourth — and largest — round of layoffs in the past 10 months that has affected various Disney television operations.
How many layoffs do they need?
It was 2 years ago that they had a huge layoff.
Looks like that still wasn’t enough.
Are they not making money? Poor Disney. If only someone knew why they were losing money. Maybe if they made entertainment that the people wanted, that would help?

Even if I know the story, I still love listening to Ryan Kinel’s take on the topic.
He does a great job tearing apart woke Hollywood.
Remember in February, they said they were focusing on creating better content and not DEI?
Doesn’t seem like they tried that hard seeing as they keep releasing duds.

I could post clip after clip about how terrible Disney is now. I have a love-hate relationship with them, like so many. Loved what they were, hate what they are now.
Here’s to the day when Iger gets replaced by someone that’s MAGA at heart.
