RFK JR Targets Dangerous Chinese Vapes

Vapes.

Not sure Frank Sinatra or James Dean would be caught dead sucking on a device that looks like a tub of mascara, but apparently that’s peak cool nowadays.

And where do these vapes come from? China.

And President Trump’s tariffs sparked a 60% US import tax on Chinese-made vapes.

Somehow, over the last decade, China’s e-cigarette export industry has exploded.

It’s now at $11.1 billion!

RFK Jr. recently called out the FDA for dragging its feet on U.S. vape makers.

He vowed at a Senate hearing to “wipe out” illicit Chinese vapes targeting American kids.

The Guardian reports:

China is set to flood Britain with cheap vapes, researchers have said, as manufacturers seek to capitalise on the world’s second biggest market after Donald Trump’s tariffs.

A trade standoff between Washington and Beijing has thrown the business world into chaos, with investors watching as each country dares the other to blink first.

After last week’s uneasy truce, the total US import tax on Chinese-made vapes stood at about 60%. That has sent China’s $11.1bn (£8.4bn) e-cigarette export industry, already scarred by stringent domestic restrictions in 2022, back to the drawing board.

It comes as the UK’s forthcoming ban on disposable vapes, which aims to reduce the number of devices that are thrown away – about 8m a week – and stop young people from taking up the habit, has brought new models of e-cigarette into the market.

Deborah Arnott, an honorary associate professor at University College London and the former chief executive of Action on Smoking and Health, said China’s natural response would be to target the UK. “With reduced access to the US, there will be growing competition to sell to the UK market, as it’s the main alternative,” she said.

Factory owners have already felt the pinch over the past few weeks of global uncertainty, according to Dr Steve Shaowei Xu, a research scientist at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, and an expert on the Chinese e-cigarette industry.

“Already there are reports [that] shipments have been blocked and US orders cut in half,” Xu said, adding that the “very sophisticated” industry would find ways to circumnavigate the current “disaster”.

Per Google:

Vaping and Popcorn Lung

Diacetyl is frequently added to flavored e-liquid to enhance the taste. Inhaling diacetyl causes inflammation and may lead to permanent scarring in the smallest branches of the airways — popcorn lung — which makes breathing difficult. Popcorn lung has no lasting treatment.

Newsmax adds:

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused the Biden administration’s Food and Drug Association of slow-walking U.S. manufactured vapes, which allowed Chinese companies to fill a vacuum and market to American children.

“We are gonna wipe them out,” RFK Jr. told Sen. Ashley Moody, R-Fla., during Senate hearing Wednesday. “We are gonna get rid of all of them.”

The Trump administration’s crackdown on Chinese vapes is a winning issue for the 2026 midterm elections, a GOP operative told Newsmax in a statement Thursday.

“This is smart politics from Kennedy,” the operative said, hailing President Donald Trump’s FDA Commissioner Marty Makary for rebuking the Chinese vapes as an “attack” on American youth. “The Democrats’ inaction on illicit Chinese vapes hurt them in the 2024 elections.

I don’t know about you, but I enjoy breathing without difficulty.

So does RFK Jr, who has been calling out the Chinese vape companies. Won’t be long before they’re dealt with.

In this upside down world where everything is a lie….I wouldn’t be surprised if smoking organic tobacco might have health benefits.

You know, tobacco without the 100’s of chemicals sprayed on it, like: formaldehyde, benzene, arsenic, ammonia.

This is a topic that should be looked into more.

I just discovered competitive vaping exists. God help us all.
