WATCH: Footage Resurfaces Of Sen. John Fetterman Argument Delaying Flight

Video footage resurfaced of Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) getting into a verbal altercation with the pilot of an airplane regarding his seatbelt.

According to View From The Wing, the incident occurred on an American Airlines regional jet traveling from Washington D.C. to Pittsburgh.

Per View From The Wing:

He’s offered a seat belt extender so that it can fit and remain visible outside of his baggy sweatshirt. Then the Senator is told by the pilot, “If you want to go to Pittsburgh, you’re going to have to follow our instructions or you’ll have to get off the airplane.” Fetterman may be important, but the captain is in charge, yet he continues to argue.

The incident occurred in February, but video is just now circulating along with stories from a strongly negative piece in New York Magazine. The piece reports that he got into a bad accident, having fallen asleep at the wheel, driving himself after a redeye flight.

The argument reportedly stemmed from the pilot asking Fetterman to wear his seatbelt in a way that was visible to the crew.

In the video, Fetterman can be seen in his seat with a pilot standing next to him. After asking Fetterman if his seatbelt was on, he then said that the seatbelt had to be visible throughout the duration of the flight.

“That’s not an us thing,” the pilot said. “That’s a federal regulation.”

Although Fetterman’s words could not be heard clearly, he seemed to be objecting, and the pilot reiterated the point that it was a federal regulation to make sure the seatbelt was visible. When the senator wouldn’t budge, the pilot said he would be asked to get off the plane if he didn’t comply.
