President Trump: “I’d Like to be Pope”

Can you imagine it?

President Trump as the next Pope?

He deadpanned that being Pontiff would be his “number one choice,” when a reporter asked his opinion on who should be next.

He tossed off the quip en route to his 100-day celebration in Michigan.

It was a cheeky moment but one has to wonder, maybe someone should clone Trump and send his clone to the Vatican.

The Times reports:

President Trump jokingly put himself up to become the new leader of the Catholic Church after attending the funeral of Pope Francis at the Vatican last weekend.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday as he left the White House to hold a rally marking his first 100 days in office, Trump was asked who he believed should become the new pontiff. “As Pope? I’d like to be Pope,” he grinned. “That would be my number one choice.”

Perhaps sensing that his joke might cause a diplomatic and liturgical crisis, Trump quickly offered another option, heaping praise on Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York. “No, I don’t know, I have no preference,” the president added. “I must say we have a cardinal that happens to be out of a place called New York who’s very good, so we’ll see what happens.”

This comes right after the media attacked Trump for wearing blue to the Pope’s funeral.

And he was the only one who wore!….oh, wait a minute:

Sure are a lot of blue suits there.

Even using the Pope’s funeral as a chance to attack Trump.

The media = the enemy of the people.

(Well, them and the Federal Reserve)
