Today is April 1st and tomorrow, April 2nd, is “Liberation Day”….the day President Trump’s tariffs go into place worldwide.
While the details are complex and still shifting, the basic premise is that anyone who tariffs us will get the same tariff put right back on them.
Simple, right?
Common sense, right?
It’s stunning to me that we tolerated such an unfair economic imbalance for so long, but we did and most Americans had no idea. We have been cheated and taken advantage of by almost every single country out there.
Don’t worry, big old Uncle Sam will foot the bill! No problem, we’ll just tax our citizens more and make their lives worse to send riches to other countries.
That stops tomorrow thanks to President Trump.
And some countries are getting a jump on things, proactively pulling off all their tariffs on us before Trump hits them with reciprocal tariffs.

As legendary investor Bill Ackman posts, Israel is setting the stage for how ALL our allies should respond:
Israel sets the example on how all of our allies should preemptively respond to President @realDonaldTrump’s desire to level the tariff playing field for America. https://t.co/44scsVChj2

I agree with Bill and I am glad to see this as well, but I just have one glaring question that quite frankly has dumbfounded me….
And no, this is not anti-semitic or anti-Israel, don’t bring that garbage around here….but what I can’t quite seem to figure out is you’re telling me we send Israel BILLIONS of dollars each year in aid, and in return they TARIFF our goods?
Are you freaking kidding me?
Israel, who is supposed to be our closest ally, after we send them billions they send us tariffs?
Folks, if that’s what Israel has been doing to us, you have no idea how bad it is with other countries. President Trump is shining a massive spotlight on all the corruption and the roaches have no where to hide! Liberation Day!
I thought it might be interesting to confirm exactly how much money we’ve sent Israel over the past 50 years, and starting with 1975, ChatGPT tells me we sent them $1.480 million, which is a fancy way for writing $1.480 BILLION dollars!
Most years it was between $2-3B, being at or above $3B per year since 2011.
Take a look:
U.S. Aid to Israel (1975–2024):
