His official cause of death was not revealed.

Kiker went on to perform a rendition of Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” on the competition show before he was eliminated.

Evans shared a statement on the crowdfunding page, saying, “This was completely unexpected and we are completely unprepared and are gonna need a little help getting him home from Denver, Colorado and being able to give the memorial that not only he but anyone deserves.” However, she did not provide any details regarding the circumstances leading up to his death.

Tributes and condolences soon began to flood X:

The New York Post also reported on the news and Kiker’s time on the long-running reality series:

He made it to Hollywood but was eliminated after that round following a performance of Marvin Gayes “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

During his audition, Kiker shared he had no prior singing experience, to which Richie asked him to go warm up and then come back.

Host Ryan Seacrest then took him outside to a restaurant to perform in front of a group of strangers. After he came back, Richie asked him once more how much experience he had.

Kiker replied, “I have some experience now.”

Bryan then hopped on the piano as Kiker performed. Perry was brought to tears while Richie went up to Kiker and said, “I don’t know about you guys, but I want us all to let you know, you’re a hell of a man.”
