Has anything ever gone worse for someone than today’s White House meeting went for Zelensky?
It just keeps getting worse the more you look, and things are moving quickly!
Things went so badly that minerals the deal Zelensky was supposed to sign — the entire reason he was at the White House in the first place — was pulled off the table:

And then adding insult to injury, Zelensky was kicked out of the White House, with President Trump taking the lunch meal prepared for Zelensky and serving it to press staffers:

Even Lindsey Graham dropped his support for Zelensky, but more on that in a minute.
Now here's the latest...
With the deal off the table and the US leaving Ukraine to fend for itself, that's not the end of the story.
Nope, it doesn't just end that easily.
As Ukraine will now be fending off Russia by itself, or with the help of Europe (a big "LOL"!), they will also find themselves the subject of an accelerated investigation by the US into fraud, waste and abuse involving the $350 billion of funds sent to Ukraine by the US.
The adults are back in charge now, and reality is crashing in very violently.
I guess these fools thought the blank check and the blank heads of US officials would just continue in perpetuity?
Well, to be honest....sure they did!
They thought they solved their little problem back in Butler, PA, but we all know how that ended up.
"She never thought she'd lose in 2016 (Hillary)."
"They never thought he'd come back to win in 2024 (Trump)."
And yet here we, I think to the dismay and disbelief of many like Zelensky and they're having a very hard time adjusting to the new reality, almost like their minds are refusing to adapt.

Friday's clash in the Oval Office between Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskiy and President Donald Trump will speed up Washington's efforts to investigate any waste, fraud and abuse involving U.S. aid to Ukraine, a senior U.S. official said.

I met with Zelensky this morning. I urged him to stay on message—be grateful, be thankful.
We'll talk about details of security guarantees later. Keep it upbeat, keep it positive.
It was an absolute, utter disaster.
The question for me is: is he redeemable in the eyes of Americans? Most Americans witnessing what they saw today would not want Zelensky to be their business partner—including me.
And I've been to Ukraine nine times since the war started. I met with him this morning.
President Trump—I talked to last night. He was upbeat about the deal.
I've never been more proud of President Trump for showing the American people and the world: you don't trifle with this man.
He was very positive. He was very upbeat. He wanted to get a ceasefire. He wants to end the war.

I just went up to the press area to get an understanding of what we're watching. This is what I was told: The president has kicked Zelensky out of the White House. His delegation right now is telling him that he's got to go home. The president felt disrespected. Officials in the room felt that, beyond the language barrier, there was discussion about Zelensky's body language—shrugging and eye rolling—which was ungrateful and disrespectful.
And the president feels that Zelensky is not ready for peace and that he can come back when he's ready to talk about peace. But he's not in that position right now. And Zelensky is being told he's got to go. The lunch that they were supposed to have is sitting right outside the hallway. And the press staffers are going to be eating that lunch.

About a week ago, President Trump called Zelensky a dictator. He was asked about that yesterday with the British prime minister, and he said, "Did I say that?" Next question, as if he wanted to brush that off and make sure that things today went smoother. Well, Zelensky, we're told, was begging to stay and work this out. The Ukrainians were begging the president and the White House.

Not only did he get kicked out, but the deal is off and the US is pulling out all support.
Ukraine is on its own and will fold very quickly.
Sadly, I expect there will be much bloodshed.
Fate loves irony, and the ultimate irony would be to see Zelensky killed in his royal palace by Russian forces in the final raid.

It looks as though the Minerals Deal with Ukraine may be off.
That would have been nice to get our $350 billion back, but without that deal in place, it appears the US will immediately stop funding and stop defending Ukraine, and that means the war will be over in days with much bloodshed, perhaps even with Zelensky's death at Russian hands once our protection is gone.
Zelensky was extremely disrespectful in the Oval Office and things got heated very fast:

The meeting was then ended and the deal was put on hold.
Once again, the USA and President Trump held all the cards.
We were happy with either outcome here....either get the $350 billion minerals deal and then eventually end the war, or if we don't get the deal we pull out now and the war ends in days, in a very bloody end for Ukraine.
We preferred the former.
We pressed hard for the former.
But it appears Zelensky has chosen the latter.

He can come back when he is ready for peace, but by that point it will likely be too late.
Today was a historic day, and Zelensky lost it all for his country.
History and the Ukrainian people will not remember him kindly.
