Fox 5 Vegas covered the story:
Las Vegas Metro Police will soon have the only fleet of Tesla Cybertrucks in the country, Sheriff Kevin McMahill revealed Tuesday.
During the State of the Department address, LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill announced the purchase of a fleet of 10 Tesla Cybertrucks. The fleet will also include a specially fitted SWAT vehicle.
“And they didn’t come out of our budget again, they came out of a very generation donation from an individual,” Sheriff McMahill shared.
He also added that the vehicles were purchased after a Cybertruck exploded outside of Trump International Hotel on Jan. 1 in a planned attack. Only one person died in the explosion, the suspect Matthew Livelsberger.
“The cop inside will be safe no matter what, it will stop bullets,” Sheriff McMahill said.
He added, “This is also a tremendous recruitment tool.”

According to Sheriff Kevin McMahill, the department will be receiving 10 Cybertrucks, which will be made to look like LVMPD patrol and SWAT cars.
The sheriff posted what appeared to be renderings of what the trucks could look like on his X account, writing “These are bada**.”
McMahill said none of the Cybertrucks will come from the department’s budget and were all donated by an unnamed individual.
This is incredibly cool.
