Another possible assassination attempt on President Trump’s life was just stopped with the arrest of a man in Pennsylvania.
Paul J. Gavenonis, a 74 year old registered Democrat who uses she/her pronouns, was arrested by police after threatening to kill President Trump the day before his rally at Penn State over the weekend.
“I hate Donald Trump. I’d like to shoot that guy,” he allegedly said while trying to buy a parking pass at the university.
According to witnesses, he also described how, in order to assassinate President Trump, you would have to climb up the building because “you can’t take a gun in or the students will see it.”
Fortunately, an employee at the university’s office feared that Gavenonis wanted the parking pass in order to get close to Trump’s rally and alerted law enforcement.

From The Lexington Herald Leader:
A Centre County resident was arrested Friday after being accused of threatening violence against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump the day before his rally at Penn State. Paul J. Gavenonis, 74, of Spring Township, was charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. While purchasing a parking pass at the university’s transportation office, the registered Democrat described climbing to the top of a tall building and said “you can’t take a gun in or the students will see it,” university police wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.
Gavenonis, who the Centre County Public Defender Office said uses she/her pronouns, then made a “racking gun motion” with her hands, a detective wrote in the charging document. “I hate Donald Trump,” Gavenonis was quoted by police as saying. “I’d like to shoot that guy.”
The transportation office staffer who processed the parking pass purchase expressed alarm and concern at the statement and called the police. Gavenonis was interviewed Friday evening by university police and the Secret Service inside the Pattee Library.
The New York Post added:
When Penn State police and the Secret Service later questioned the suspect, Gavenonis allegedly laughed when asked if she believed she could kill the Republican presidential candidate.
“Probably. Yeah,” Gavenonis is alleged to have said.
Frankly, I hope somebody would get him,” she added, according to the affidavit.
Gavenonis allegedly also told agents she had a rifle at her home.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the alleged perp was trying to purchase the parking pass to gain access to the rally, or if she had plans to attend.
The Kansas City Star reported the suspect is a registered Democrat.
Gavenonis was charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
She is being held without bail in Centre County Prison.
