BREAKING: Disgraced Movie Mogul Harvey Weinstein Hospitalized

Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was rushed to the hospital to receive emergency heart surgery after having chest pains while being incarcerated at Rikers Island in New York.

Weinstein, who is in prison awaiting his second trial for sex crimes after his 2020 rape conviction was overturned, was rushed to the ICU at Bellevue Hospital to receive emergency heart surgery.

While in the hospital, doctors reportedly removed a large amount of fluid from Weinstein’s heart and lungs.

Weinstein’s hospitalization comes just months after he was hospitalized back in July due to a “myriad of health conditions.”

Check out what NBC News reported:

Harvey Weinstein had heart surgery Monday after he complained of health issues and was moved from a New York City jail to a hospital, a representative for the disgraced movie mogul said.

Weinstein, whose 2020 rape conviction was overturned in April, is in the ICU at Bellevue Hospital and awaiting further test results and details from doctors, said the representative, Craig Rothfeld.

Weinstein, 72, was moved from Rikers Island jail to the hospital after complaining that he didn’t feel well and had experienced significant weight gain from medication, Rothfeld said.

He underwent the procedure Monday morning to alleviate a significant amount of fluid from his lungs and heart, Rothfeld said.

In July, Weinstein was hospitalized for a “myriad of health conditions” and tested positive for Covid-19 and double pneumonia, his representative said.

At that time, Weinstein was taken to the hospital to be treated for the “conditions that he is still afflicted with on a daily basis such as diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid on his heart and lungs, and various other conditions,” his representative said then.

Check out what the New York Post reported:

Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein underwent emergency heart surgery Monday after experiencing chest pains and getting rushed from Rikers Island to a Manhattan hospital late Sunday, his lawyer said.

Weinstein, 72, who is being held at the city jail as he awaits a second trial on sex crimes charges, was transferred to Bellevue Hospital after calling his attorneys over the weekend reporting “how ill he was,” his lawyer, Arthur Aidala, confirmed to The Post.

Weinstein’s private jail consultant Craig Rothfeld then worked with city officials to get Weinstein moved to the hospital, Aidala said.
