Woman Dies After Getting Stuck In Baggage Carousel


A woman tragically died Thursday morning at Chicago O’Hare Airport after getting stuck in a baggage carousel.

A 57-year-old woman who has yet to be identified has died after getting stuck in a baggage carousel in Chicago.

The Department of Labor reported that the woman who got stuck was not a worker at O’Hare International Airport.

The Chicago Fire Department reported they received a call about a woman being “pinned in machinery” at 7:45 a.m.

Shortly after first responders arrived on the scene, the woman was pronounced dead.

A woman died Thursday morning at Chicago O’Hare International Airport after getting caught in a baggage carousel, officials told ABC News.

The woman, who has not yet been publicly identified, was 57, according to the Chicago Police Department.

The woman was a member of the public and not a worker at the airport, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Labor.

Emergency responders were called to Terminal 5 at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday following reports of a woman “pinned in machinery,” the Chicago Fire Department said.

A woman died at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport early Thursday after she became trapped in machinery in the baggage claim area.

The unresponsive woman was found trapped under a conveyor belt, the Chicago Fire Department told CBS Chicago.

Police sources told the outlet that the woman was in her 40s.

She was found in the baggage claim area of Terminal 5, which houses several international air carriers, just before 8 a.m.
