Happening Now: Capitol Police Are Arresting Pro-Palestine Protesters That Stormed Capitol


A large group of pro-Palestine protesters staged a protest inside the U.S. Capitol on Tuesday afternoon.

The group of protesters were seen wearing red shirts that read, “Jews say stop arming Israel.”

After refusing to leave the Capitol, Capitol Police officers started to make arrests.

In a statement on X, the Capitol Police wrote, “We are arresting a group that is illegally demonstrating inside the Cannon Rotunda. Demonstrations are not allowed inside the Congressional Buildings.”

“We told the people who legally entered to stop or they would be arrested. They did not stop, so we are arresting them,” added the Capitol Police.

A group of demonstrators wearing red shirts that read “Jews say stop arming Israel,” have taken to the Cannon Rotunda on Capitol Hill.

The protesters have taken a seat and are chanting on the Cannon House Office Building’s floor. There appears to be at least one hundred people involved in the sit-in.

FOX 5 observed at least a dozen people being zip tied and escorted out by Capitol Police officers.

Capitol Police released the following statement via X:

“We are arresting a group that is illegally demonstrating inside the Cannon Rotunda. Demonstrations are not allowed inside the Congressional Buildings.

We told the people, who legally entered, to stop or they would be arrested. They did not stop, so we are arresting them.”

The U.S. Capitol Police started to arrest pro-Palestinian demonstrators at the Capitol on Tuesday afternoon.

Starting at 3 p.m., a group with Jewish Voice for Peace refused to leave the Cannon Building Rotunda. According to an email from the group, 400 American Jews, including two dozen rabbis, participated in the sit-in.
