Hollywood Icon Donald Sutherland Dead At 88


Hollywood icon Donald Sutherland has died at 88.

The son of Donald Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland, announced his father’s death on X.

Kiefer wrote, “With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away.”

“I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film,” added Kiefer.

Sutherland starred in hit films such as “The Hunger Games”, “Animal House”, and “The Dirty Dozen.

Donald Sutherland has died at 88.

“With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away,” Kiefer Sutherland announced on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday.

“I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”

The award winning actor starred in a slew of hit movies such as “The Hunger Games,” “The Dirty Dozen,” and “Animal House.”

Per TMZ:

Donald Sutherland — a legend in Hollywood — has died … this according to his talent agency and his family.

The actor — who was best known for appearing in classics like “The Dirty Dozen,” “Mash,” “Animal House,” “Hunger Games” and many, many other films — passed away Thursday in Miami, Florida after a long illness … something CAA announced.

No cause of death was shared, and the exact details of his passing weren’t shared either.

His son, Kiefer Sutherland, confirmed the news on IG, writing … “With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film.”
