Kevin O’Leary Reveals His Top Pick for Trump’s VP

As the nation anticipates Trump’s running mate decision, Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank has just revealed his no. 1 choice.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Mr. Wonderful said his pick would be North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum.

O’Leary believes that Burgum would offer a nice, stabilizing balance to the ticket and appeal to independent voters.

Burgum is also a former businessman, which O’Leary says gives him, “incredible executional skills.”

More from O’Leary’s interview with Daily Mail:

Shark Tank star Kevin O’Leary has revealed his pick for Donald Trump‘s vice president, as suspense builds over who will join him on the 2024 ticket.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com, the investor hailed North Dakota governor and former businessman Doug Burgum as a potential buffer to the often unpredictable former president.

‘If you’re an independent and you’re thinking that Trump is too crazy, but then you’ve got Burgum in the package, then you’ve got some “Trump insurance”. That’s the way I think they’re going to sell it,’ he said.

Burgum, 67, recently emerged as one of a handful of leading contenders for the role as the former president’s running mate in the election later this year.

The pick will be announced at the Republican National Convention next month, Trump confirmed this week.

Burgum had a career in technology and consulting before making his successful first bid for governor of his home state in 2016.

In the 1980s he developed a small startup tech company called Great Plains Software, which he later sold to Microsoft in 2001 for over $1 billion.

He has an estimated net worth of at least $100 million, according to Forbes, although he is a relatively unknown figure and largely untested on the national stage. He launched a presidential campaign in 2024 which received little attention.

Burgum may be a ‘dark horse’ as a pick for Trump’s running mate, but he has ‘incredible executional skills because he came from business in the state of North Dakota,’ said O’Leary.

What do you think?

Do you agree with O’Leary?

Would you support a Trump/Burgum ticket? Or would you like to see someone else chosen as VP?

Trump has teased that he will announce his VP pick at the upcoming Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He told Fox News’ Aishah Hasnie on Thursday that his running mate was ‘probably’ in the room where he held a meeting with Senate GOP lawmakers, but that he would wait until the convention to announce.

Trump also called Youngkin ‘great’ and said he would consider him for VP.

Per The New York Post:

Former President Donald Trump hinted Thursday that he’s close to deciding who he will pick as his running mate for the 2024 presidential election.

“I have sort of a pretty good idea,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee told Fox News reporter Aishah Hasnie after meeting with congressional Republicans on Capitol Hill, noting that his potential choice was “probably” in the room with him at some point during his Thursday meetings.
