Jesse Watters: Deep-Seated Conflict Of Interest With Trump Judge

In case you forgot, Judge Merchan is a Democrat donor and his daughter runs a Democrat fundraising firm.

I don’t know about you, but this is one of the most clear conflicts of interest I have ever seen in my life! How is this legal, how is this alright in a nation of laws?

The firm headed by Merchan’s daughter has helped Democrat clients raise nearly $100 million and included notable names such as Adam Schiff.

Jesse Watters reminded his audience of the troubling ways in which Judge Merchan is highly conflicted:

As it turns out, two major Democrat clients of Judge Merchan’s daughter have raised over $93 million in campaign donations through her firm, several times using the very case Judge Merchan is overseeing in their fundraising pitches.

Ms. Merchan, who previously worked for Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, currently works as the president of Authentic Campaigns, a left-wing political consulting firm based out of Chicago.

Marjorie Taylor Greene echoed calls for Merchan to recuse himself from the high-profile case:

“The court in New York holding this trial against Pres Trump is a complete joke. The New York Judge, Juan Merchan, who President Trump is currently before is totally corrupt and conflicted – a legal disaster!

The Hill reports that Judge Juan Merhcan refuses to recuse himself:

“The defendants’ second motion for recusal is denied,” Merchan said, adding he won’t consider the matter again.

It follows Merchan’s rejection of the former president’s similar recusal motion last year and a series of failed attempts by Trump’s legal team last week to stave off the fast-approaching trial.
