Biden Takes Jab At Mike Pence’s Loyalty

During the White House Correspondents Dinner, Joe Biden fired several jokes at Donald Trump.

One joke that garnered laughs among the mainstream media during the event was Biden’s joke that he and Trump are the same age, but that’s the only thing they have in common.

Biden continued, “My vice president actually endorses me.”

Here’s what KCTV5 reported:

The war in Gaza spurred large protests outside a glitzy roast with President Joe Biden, journalists, politicians and celebrities Saturday but went all but unmentioned by participants inside, with Biden instead using the annual White House correspondents’ dinner to make both jokes and grim warnings about Republican rival Donald Trump’s fight to reclaim the U.S. presidency.

An evening normally devoted to presidents, journalists and comedians taking outrageous pokes at political scandals and each other often seemed this year to illustrate the difficulty of putting aside the coming presidential election and the troubles in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Biden opened his roast with a direct but joking focus on Trump, calling him “sleepy Don,” in reference to a nickname Trump had given the president previously.

Despite being similar in age, Biden said, the two presidential hopefuls have little else in common. “My vice president actually endorses me,” Biden said. Former Trump Vice President Mike Pence has refused to endorse Trump’s reelection bid.

Biden also joked about Trump’s legal problems:

Per Fox News:

The annual White House correspondents’ dinner was held Saturday in which President Biden was joined by politicians, journalists and celebrities for an election year roast, with the backdrop of the Israel-Hamas war and protests over the conflict.

The event featured a roast of the president by comedian Colin Jost, who also made jokes targeting the media and Republican politicians, including former President Trump and Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida.

“Like many of you here tonight, I pretend to do news on TV,” Jost told the crowd, referring to his “Saturday Night Live” skit.

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters outside the event condemned Biden’s support for Israel and Western media coverage of the war. This, as anti-Israel protests have been held on U.S. college campuses in recent weeks.
