Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Campaign Says He Qualified For Ballot In Swing State

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has qualified for the Nevada general election ballot, his campaign announced.

RFK Jr.’s campaign said it collected more than 15,000 signatures in “The Silver State.”

“That’s our fourth state, we’re beating our benchmarks in all the other states, so we’re very confident we’re going to be on the ballot in every state,” RFK Jr. said on NewsNation.

Nevada is the fourth state where the former Democrat has qualified for the general election ballot.

“In addition to the four states that campaign volunteers have secured ballot access in (Hawaii, Nevada, New Hampshire, Utah), pro-RFK super PAC American Values 2024 has gathered enough signatures to qualify Kennedy for ballot access in Arizona, Georgia, and South Carolina,” Holden Culotta writes.

“The campaign has collected more than 15,000 signatures in Nevada. This places Kennedy on the ballot in one of the most closely contested swing states in the country, where the margin between Presidents Biden and Trump was just 2.39% in 2020,” a press release from RFK Jr.’s campaign read.

“Today marks the end of the primary and the beginning of the general election,” RFK Jr. said.

“Nearly 70% of Americans don’t want a Trump/Biden rematch from 2020. They want to vote for someone who represents hope and healing. For someone with an inspiring vision for America,” he continued.

“I look forward to taking on Presidents Biden and Trump on the issues that matter most to Americans — from making housing and health care affordable to ending the forever wars and unraveling corporate capture of our government,” he added.

From Kennedy24:

Kennedy’s surging support across the country has made the election a three-way race. A recent Quinnipiac poll shows him leading nationwide among voters under 35 and independents. An NBC poll shows 34% of people saying they could see themselves supporting RFK Jr. Another Quinnipiac Poll discussed on CNN shows Kennedy basically in a three-way tie with Presidents Biden and Trump among Latinos.

The Kennedy campaign filed another successful ballot access lawsuit challenging Idaho’s unconstitutional early deadline for independent presidential candidates to qualify for Idaho’s 2024 general election ballot.

Kennedy challenged Section 34-708A of the Idaho Code mandating that independent candidates file nomination petitions containing a minimum of 1,000 verified signatures with Secretary of State McGrane no later than March 15. In Anderson v. Celebrezze, The United States Supreme Court, more than 40 years ago, clearly established that a March 20 deadline imposed by Ohio for independent presidential candidates to qualify for a state ballot was unconstitutional as too early and impairing the rights of voters to cast meaningful votes for candidates other than the two major party candidates.

Days after the Kennedy campaign filed their lawsuit, the Idaho State Legislature commenced a race to amend the statute to bring it into compliance with Supreme Court precedent. On February 29, during an informal status conference, Judge Winmill informed Sec. McGrane that he would extend the March 15 deadline if the state legislature failed to quickly amend the challenged law.

This is the second constitutional challenge to state petitioning deadlines that the campaign has won, previously having struck down the Utah deadline in December 2023.

RFK Jr.’s campaign is attempting to secure ballot access in all 50 states and Washington D.C.

The campaign says it has exceeded all its ballot access benchmarks to date.

“His inclusion on the ballot there [Nevada] could have a major impact on who wins the key swing state come November. President Biden won Nevada by less than 35,000 votes in 2020 over Donald Trump,” Daily Mail noted.

Daily Mail reports:

The pro-Kennedy super PAC American Values 2024 (AV24) has previously said his name will be on the ballots in Georgia and Arizona, meaning Kennedy could impact the results of the election in three critical swing states in 2024.

The Kennedy campaign said it has launched an access plan to get him on the ballot in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and has exceeded all of its benchmarks to date.

Kennedy qualified to get on the Utah ballot in early January. He has also collected enough signatures to get on the ballots in New Hampshire and Hawaii, according to his campaign.

Earlier this month, the DNC filed an other complaint with the Federal Election Commission accusing the Independent presidential candidate’s campaign of illegally coordinating with the pro-Kennedy super PAC to help get him on the general election ballot.

The DNC alleged that AV24 worked to collect signatures to ensure Kennedy is on the November ballot in key states but will have to ‘integrate their expenses’ with the campaign in ways that violate federal election rules in order to do so.

On Monday, the DNC filed another complaint with the FEC accusing the pro- Kennedy super PAC of failing to properly disclose $10 million in loans.
