This is pretty sad and hilarious, even for Mitch McConnell.
Calling McConnell a RINO (Republican In Name Only) seems too generous at this point. In fact, I question whether he’s even an American or working for China.
And while it doesn’t really mean anything at this point and especially coming from him, McConnell has finally bent the knee and endorsed Donald J. Trump.

Here’s more, from CNN:
Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell announced Wednesday he will support Donald Trump for the presidency, a move that comes more than three years after they have last spoken and after the Kentucky Republican pointedly blamed Trump for the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.
“It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States,” McConnell said in a statement. “It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support.”
McConnell’s announcement came just minutes after Trump’s final substantive primary challenger – former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley – said she would leave the race the morning after Super Tuesday, in which Trump dominated the races across the country.
McConnell’s support came after lengthy discussions for months between Chris LaCivita from the Trump campaign and longtime McConnell confidant Josh Holmes about opening communications between the two camps and – maybe most importantly – getting on the same page about the US Senate races this year, according to a source familiar.
McConnell, who hasn’t spoken to Trump since December 2020, didn’t speak to him before he issued his endorsement, according to another source familiar with the matter. The source said that LaCivita and Holmes spoke instead.
The public support from McConnell, who announced last week he would step down as GOP leader at the end of the year, also came after his other top Republican senators have endorsed Trump. John Thune, the No. 2 Republican in the chamber who is running to replace McConnell, endorsed Trump earlier this month. Texas Sen. John Cornyn, another possible McConnell successor, backed Trump after he won the New Hampshire primary.
Thune, who has been vocal in the past about his concerns over how Trump will fare with suburban voters, told CNN that he believes the Republican ticket will deliver a united message.
“I think we got to, gonna have a united ticket going into the fall. and we’ll all go out and all help aggressively win those people in suburban areas, independent voters,” he told CNN. “It’s now a – it’s a straight up one on one.”

FACT-CHECK: Mitch McConnell’s Hands and Mouth Alarmingly Black and Blue?
Time for a Fact-Check!
I saw this photo swirling around Twitter today and it definitely caught my attention:
Look at his hands and lips…zoom in what the hell?? pic.twitter.com/QYKnELM0S1
— Poppi Starr (@popstarr65) February 13, 2024
Screenshot:
Wow, that’s really bad!
Mitch McConnell’s hands and mouth look horrible!
Black & blue would be an understatement.
But….is it true?
Is it real?
Well…yes! Yes, this is an authentic photo. The only catch? It’s not “new” it’s from 2020.
From Slate (in 2020):
The photos began spreading on Twitter later that day. Unlike most photos of blue hands, they were not doctored.
McConnell’s press secretary has not responded to two requests for comment about whether the longtime Republican leader has suffered any health issue. But Politico congressional reporter John Bresnahan, who specializes in haranguing old senators about their mortality, asked McConnell on Thursday what’s going on. The conversation (via the Capitol Hill press pool) went as follows:
Bresnahan: Everyone’s been asking about your hands. Is there something going on?
McConnell: I’ve been worried about your health, Bres. How are you feeling?
Bresnahan: I’m feeling OK.
McConnell: Good for you.
Bresnahan: But I’m serious, is there anything going on we should know about?
McConnell: Of course not.
McConnell later reiterated to CNN’s Ted Barrett that he has “no concerns,” but wouldn’t answer when asked whether he’s being treated by a doctor. (It is, generally, a miracle whenever McConnell utters a word, or even looks at you, or even gives any indication that there’s another human being in his presence, when you ask him a question in the hallway.)

Here’s more on the 2020 story from the NY Post:
What’s wrong with Mitch McConnell’s hands? Probably nothing more than the thinning skin — and easy bruising — that comes with old age.
Dermatologists say the 78-year-old Senate majority leader’s black-and-blue bruises and bandaged hands are likely a common condition called senile purpura.
“Your skin just naturally becomes more fragile as you age,” Dr. Doris Day, a Manhattan-based dermatologist, told The Post.
“I think it’s just a bruise — a solid good bruise,” she said.
Older skin loses its elasticity and its cushioning layer of collagen, doctors say.
That naturally occurring fragility of the skin can also be complicated by prior chronic sun exposure.
And if you’re taking any kind of blood thinner, even baby aspirin, bruising is even more likely.
“It’s really just from anything that creates some trauma that causes blood to leak out from the vessels under the skin,” Day said.
“It’s not a problem if it goes away. If you do bruise and the bruise does not go away, then you need to see a hematologist,” or blood doctor, she said.
“There’s not really much you can do,” agreed Dr. Jeremy Fenton, dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group in Manhattan and Long Beach.
“You can try some things, topical treatments that can build collagen and thicken the skin, such as retinoids, lactic acid lotions, but it’s going to be an uphill battle.”
Fenton also agreed that the condition appears to be senile purpura — and he wondered further whether McConnell’s bruises resulted from a recent attempt to draw blood.
“If someone was trying to draw blood from him — especially if someone is on blood thinners — that can cause significant bruising,” he noted.
“But why does he have the bruising on his lips too? That wouldn’t be explained by someone drawing blood.”
Even Snopes rated the photo as TRUE:
On Oct. 21, 2020, social media users began circulating an image said to show the hands of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, with those appendages looking unusually — and alarmingly — dark and mottled:
This image is indeed an Associated Press-distributed photograph of the 78-year-old U.S. senator from Kentucky, taken on Oct. 20 and captioned as follows:
“Hands of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are seen as he talks to the media after the Republican policy luncheon on Capitol Hill in Washington on October 20, 2020. Photo by Yuri Gripas/Abaca/Sipa USA”
Why McConnell’s hands exhibited purplish bruises and bandages — a conspicuous change from just a week earlier, when his hands appeared fine — has prompted much speculation, with guesses ranging from claims that the senator has contracted COVID-19 to the possibility that he has a vascular disease and/or is undergoing dialysis and is taking blood thinners. As neither McConnell nor any of his representatives have publicly commented on his condition, a definitive answer is not yet available.
Of course with the benefit of perfect hindsight vision, we now know it was only a few months later that Mitch McConnell would suddenly freeze up like a glitched robot at a microphone….not once, but twice!
Were the hands and mouth an early indicator something was very wrong?

BREAKING: Mitch McConnell "Freezes Up" Again For About 30 Seconds...Very Alarming
This is a Breaking News Alert...
Sen. Mitch McConnell has just "frozen up" again.
Ok, who forgot to reboot Mitch this morning?
Turn him off and turn him back on again, should fix it!
It's actually no laughing matter, it's incredibly frustrating that we have people this old and this gone allegedly "representing us" in Congress.
I'm sure it's also very alarming to his family, but at this point I have almost no sympathy for them.
You want him to have some dignity and privacy?
Get him the Hell out of Congress!
Stop gravy-training him!
The family gets no sympathy from me.
Get this guy and Diane Feinstein and all the rest of them OUT OF CONGRESS!
And take Joe with you!

Mitch McConnell "BOT" Freezes Up, Shuts Down Mid-Sentence?
No, I'm not going tinfoil hat on you...
I'm not saying Mitch McConnell is dead and has been replaced by a robot.
We don't go there here at the WLTReport.
Not my thing.
I'm just saying if he was dead and replaced by a robot that suddenly short circuited and shut down mid-sentence it would look exactly like what just happened at this press conference.
This is real.
I can't explain it, I don't know what happened, I don't know what exactly "this" is....
But I do know it's real.

We never take joy in medical conditions suffered by anyone, but Mitch is about as much of an unsympathetic figure as you can get.
Did he sell us out to China?
Treason doesn't engender much sympathy in my book.
How soon until someone memes this into Mitch short-circuiting while his "bot" waits for new instructions from China?

NBC News has also confirmed the event:
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell suddenly stopped speaking during a weekly Republican leadership news conference on Wednesday afternoon, appearing to freeze, and then went silent and was walked away.
McConnell, R-Ky., had been making his opening remarks when he stopped talking. His Republican colleagues asked if he was OK, and Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming escorted McConnell away from the cameras and reporters.
Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa made a sign of the cross as if she was praying for McConnell.
A few minutes later, McConnell walked back to the news conference by himself. When asked about his health, he said he was fine.
McConnell's office didn't immediately return a request for comment.

Remember this one?
This clip had been banned from YouTube and I thought it was lost forever until I finally just discovered it again today.
This is the infamous and absolutely classic moment when Nancy Pelosi went on live TV and malfunctioned.
She appeared to "restart" midway through the interview.
