Climate Change Activists CHARGED With Felonies For Vandalizing Constitution Display Case

Two climate change activists have just been hit with felony charges for defacing the display case of the U.S. Constitution at the National Archives.

Two weeks ago, on Valentine’s Day, the protestors dumped red powder over the Constitution’s protective display case.

Here’s a clip from the ridiculous stunt:

The National Archives were evacuated, and the group responsible posted a statement onto X following the pair’s vandalism:

The two “activists” were immediately arrested.

In additional to felony charges against the pair, the DOJ has slammed their stunt as an “attack on the Constitution” with a clean-up bill of over $50K.

While infantile forms of ‘environmental protests’ like this one have become far too common, it’s rare to see the perpetrators face any real consequences for their actions.

But, it’s about time that we do, and this case may set the stage for more justice to come in the future…

Fox News reported on the felony charges the two activists are facing:

Two left-wing climate activists have been hit with felony charges after defacing the U.S. Constitution’s display case.

The Department of Justice on Friday announced that Donald Zepeda of Maryland and Jackson Green of Utah have been charged with felony destruction of government property following a climate change stunt that involved dumping red powder on the encasement protecting the U.S. Constitution in the National Archives Rotunda.

“The National Archives Rotunda is the sanctuary for our nation’s founding documents,” Dr. Colleen Shogan, Archivist of the United States, said in a statement following the incident. “They are here for all Americans to view and understand the principles of our nation. We take such vandalism very seriously and we will insist that the perpetrators be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Independent Journal Review added some additional details:

Two climate activists who allegedly defaced a display of the U.S. Constitution at the National Archives last month in Washington, D.C., were charged with felonies this week, the Justice Department announced Friday.

Both men went viral on Feb. 14 when they dumped red powder on themselves and a display case for the document and were arrested.

The defacing of the Constitution followed a similar pattern to the actions of climate alarmists abroad who have attacked priceless works of art in recent months and years.

In the case of what the DOJ called an “attack on the Constitution,” the cleanup bill has been in excess of $50,000.

According to a news release from the DOJ, Donald Zepeda, 35, of Maryland and Jackson Green, 27, of Utah, have been charged with felonies in the “stunt.”
