BREAKING: High-Level Disney Executive To Be REPLACED Effective Immediately

This is yet another lesson in going woke and going broke—perhaps the most signature one.

Disney’s film President Sean Bailey is stepping down from his role at the company effective immediately, and it isn’t very hard to see why the film executive is on his way out.

Disney films have been performing horribly at the box office—the entertainment giant lost $1 billion at the box office due to several notable disasters like the Little Mermaid Remake.

The company’s stock price is also at a 14-year low or something ludicrous like that; if someone wanted to destroy a company from within then Disney is a case study.

End Wokeness didn’t mince words: “Disney film president Sean Bailey is leaving, effective immediately. Bailey was in charge of Disney remakes. Bailey was responsible for recent bombs like Little Mermaid (2023) and Peter and Wendy. Disney lost a whopping $1 billion at the box office last year over multiple flops.”

Hollywood Reporter explained:

Disney tapped Bailey as president of production in 2010, and he was the tip of the spear to bringing to action the strategy of moving away from original movie and to focus of remaking the company’s animated classic into live action.

It was a strategy that was hard to argue against, with many success, some becoming billion dollar blockbusters including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King.

Deadline Hollywood provided more details: “Walt Disney‘s President of Motion Picture Studios, Sean Bailey, is departing after fifteen years on the lot. In his place, Searchlight’s co-President David Greenbaum is stepping in.”

Variety clarified that Bailey isn’t leaving the company entirely, he will simply take on another role:

Bailey, who has overseen Disney’s live-action slate since 2010, isn’t completely cutting ties to the company.

He will segue to serve as a producer on “Tron: Ares” and other studio projects.

During his tenure, he oversaw adaptations of beloved properties, like 2010’s “Alice in Wonderland,” 2014’s “Maleficent,” and 2016’s “Jungle Book,” as well as a string of billion-dollar hits like “The Lion King,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin.”

But Disney endured a rough 2023 at the box office, including the big-budget misfire of “The Haunted Mansion,” which hailed from Bailey’s division.

While “The Little Mermaid” remake didn’t completely flounder with $569 million worldwide, it failed to achieve the the success that greeted prior live-action adaptations of Disney’s animated classics.
