James Biden, Brother Of Joe Biden, Enters Closed Doors Investigation On Capitol Hill

James Biden is at Capitol Hill today as the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees investigate the possibility of a Biden impeachment.

Though the questions that will be asked aren’t entirely known, the committee is expected to ask James about a $200k loan he took out and a $200k payment he made to Joe Biden on the same day.

Here is part of James Biden’s statement:

As my interview will make clear, there are four critical points:

1. I have had a 50-year career in a variety of business ventures. Joe Biden has never had
any involvement or any direct or indirect financial interest in those activities. None.

2. Because of my intimate knowledge of my brother’s personal integrity and character, as
well as my own strong ethics, I have always kept my professional life separate from our close
personal relationship.

3. I never asked my brother to take any official action on behalf of me, my business
associates, or anyone else.

4. In every business venture in which I have been involved, I have relied on my own talent,
judgment, skill, and personal relationships—and never my status as Joe Biden’s brother. Those
who have said or thought otherwise were either mistaken, ill informed, or flat-out lying

Hunter Biden is expected to testify under similar conditions soon.

Fox News shares more on the story:

The president’s brother arrived on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning for a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees.

Fox News Digital obtained the first brother’s opening statement.

“I have had a 50-year career in a variety of business ventures,” James Biden said in his opening statement. “Joe Biden has never had any involvement or any direct or indirect financial interest in those activities. None.”

James Biden went on to defend his brother, the president, saying that because of his “intimate knowledge of my brother’s personal integrity and character, as well as my own strong ethics, I have always kept my professional life separate from our close personal relationship.”

“I never asked my brother to take any official action on behalf of me, my business associates, or anyone else,” James Biden said. “In every business venture in which I have been involved, I have relied on my own talent, judgment, skill, and personal relationships—and never my status as Joe Biden’s brother.”

He added: “Those who have said or thought otherwise were either mistaken, ill informed, or flat-out lying.”

James Biden stressed that Joe Biden “played no role, was not involved with, and received no benefits” from his work with Chinese energy company CEFC, or the healthcare company Americore.

“With my appearance here today, the Committees will have the information to conclude that the negative and destructive assumptions about me and my relationship with my brother Joe are wrong,” James Biden said.

CNN shares more:

In James Biden, Republicans have found their most direct piece of evidence that connects to the president in the form of two personal checks addressed to Joe Biden when he was not in office. But banking records reviewed by CNN provide substantial evidence that both were loan repayments and not the smoking gun Republicans had made them out to be.

The first check Republicans revealed went to Joe Biden in 2018 for $200,000 from James Biden and James’ wife Sara Biden. The check has the words “loan repayment” written on the front and was written to the president the same day that James Biden received $200,000 from a struggling health company he did business with.

The second check rolled out by Republicans, which also has the notation “loan repayment,” was from the president’s brother and wife to Joe Biden in September 2017 for $40,000.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer has repeatedly said he does not “believe” that Joe Biden had actually made a loan to his brother and claims the $40,000 check is “laundered China money.”

Democratic members of the committee and a lawyer for James Biden have said that Comer’s committee has documents that show there had indeed been a $200,000 loan from Joe Biden to James Biden. Banking records reviewed by CNN, which Comer’s committee possesses, provide substantial evidence in support of the Democrats’ assertions.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes from the House Oversight Committee.

I don’t have high hopes for House Republicans to do anything but scream and shout in hopes it helps them get reelected.

As we saw earlier today, it doesn’t seem like much is going to happen with Hunter Biden now that the FBI informant was found to be lying about the entire story with Ukraine.
