Geraldo Rivera Announces New Venture After Being Fired From “The Five”

Left-wing political commentator Geraldo Rivera is back with a new gig.

After being reportedly fired from the Fox News network Rivera will now be joining News Nation as a senior-level correspondent on the cable news channel.

Despite the widespread reports claiming that Rivera was fired from Fox’s “The Five” program, Rivera continues to claim that he quit the network on his own.

Whether or not this is true I cannot say, what I can say is that Rivera is set to begin his new position at News Nation immediately.

News Nation announced on Wednesday: “News Nation, America’s fastest-growing cable news network in primetime, today announced Geraldo Rivera will join the channel as correspondent-at-large, effective immediately.”

Rivera responded to the announcement: “Delighted to be joining the terrific News Nation team. They’re kicking butt with original reporting beholding to no party or ideology. These are perilous times in our bitterly divided country. As I have for 54 years, I stand with the militant moderates, patriotic and independent.”

News Nation issued this press release:

“Geraldo is a legendary journalist whose talent and experience is unrivaled in the industry,” said Michael Corn, President of News at NewsNation.

“We look forward to him joining the network and providing our viewers with his one-of-a-kind analysis.”

Mr. Rivera is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning journalist who has spent the last 50 years working in the television industry.

Rivera went on: “I’ll be joining both these strong, larger-than-life characters tonight. No other network dares offer such diversity.”

People Magazine explained:

Rivera, who joined Fox News in 2001, announced he was leaving the network last June.

A spokesperson for Fox News shared a statement at the time, saying, “We reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks and look forward to celebrating him tomorrow on Fox & Friends which will be his last appearance on the network.”
