Biden Halts Natural Gas Exports, Blames MAGA Republicans

Bundle up, folks.

Looks like Biden is taking aim at natural gas.

Specifically, he’s pausing it from being exported.

These people want us to freeze.

It seems the left is obsessed with controlling energy, in all its forms.

And blaming MAGA Republicans for everything.

The Federalist says:

The Biden Administration announced Friday that it’s putting a stop to the permitting process for several liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal projects in the name of climate change.

In a joint statement, “the White House and Department of Energy (DOE) said the pause would occur while federal officials conduct a rigorous environmental review assessing the projects’ carbon emissions, which could take more than a year to complete,” reported Fox News.

What’s your real goal, Biden?

Though I doubt he was the one to come up with this idea.

The Post Millennial reports:

On Friday, Joe Biden paused approvals for pending and future applications for the exportation of liquified natural gas (LNG) from new projects, a pause that could see delays on decisions on new plants until after the November election.

During the pause, the Department of Energy will conduct a review looking at the economic and environmental impacts of projects seeking approval to export LNG overseas where the fuel is in demand, according to NBC News.

The pause is only on pending applications for exports to countries with which the US does not have free trade agreements. Exceptions for unanticipated and immediate national security emergencies will be allowed.

This review will take months, and then will be open to public comments which adds time, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said in a press conference, according to Reuters.

The US is the top exporter of LNG nationwide, with around half of all exports in 2023 going to Europe.

“During this period, we will take a hard look at the impacts of LNG exports on energy costs, America’s energy security, and our environment,” Biden said in a statement, adding that the pause “sees the climate crisis for what it is: the existential threat of our time.”

Can you believe this guy?

“Climate crisis is the existential threat of our time.” What a load of rubbish.

Let’s ask Biden’s Climate Captain on what the positive result will be on the environment from this decision.

Surely he has a powerful answer that will have us all supporting this:

Hmm, sounds like he doesn’t know.

The Post Millennial continues:

Biden took aim at MAGA Republicans in his statement, writing, “While MAGA Republicans willfully deny the urgency of the climate crisis, condemning the American people to a dangerous future, my Administration will not be complacent. We will not cede to special interests.”

“We will heed the calls of young people and frontline communities who are using their voices to demand action from those with the power to act,” Biden added. Environmentalists and younger adults in groups centered around climate change make up part of Biden’s base going into the election.

Industry groups condemned the pause as a “win for Russia,” while environmentalists cheered an action they have long been seeking as a way to counter Biden’s approval of the huge Willow oil project in Alaska last year.

“This decision is brave, because Donald Trump (the man who pulled us out of the Paris climate accords on the grounds that climate change is a hoax) will attack it mercilessly,” environmental activist Bill McKibben wrote in an online post.

“But it’s also very, very savvy: Biden wants young people, who care about climate above all, in his corner. They were angry about his dumb approval of the Willow oil project,” McKibben added.

It seems their real goal is summed up nicely by The Federalist:

Policies such as eliminating gas stoves, banning meat, controlling thermostats, and heavily restricting freedom of movement annihilate personal freedoms, not CO2 emissions. Beyond empowering globalists in Davos, abolishing fossil fuels, reducing birth rates, and creating artificial food shortages will dramatically reduce the global population.

Associated Press added:

The Biden administration is delaying consideration of new natural gas export terminals in the United States, even as gas shipments to Europe and Asia have soared since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The election year decision by President Joe Biden aligns with environmentalists who fear the huge increase in exports, in the form of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, is locking in potentially catastrophic planet-warming emissions when the Democratic president has pledged to cut climate pollution in half by 2030.

On a related note, all these constant mentions on “climate change” from the left reminds me of that Project Veritas clip from 2021.

CNN Technical Director, Charlie Chester, admitting that “climate change” will be the focus to terrify everyone.
