“It’s Time For Some Serious Soul-Searching,” Fox News Host Offers Advice To DeSantis & Haley

The Iowa caucuses revealed much about the state of the republican party.

The number one takeaway was simple though:

President Donald Trump is still the man for the job going forward.

This is something that GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy understands well.

That’s why he just dropped out of the race and put his full support behind President Trump.

Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley haven’t quite gotten the message yet though…

Fox News host Laura Ingraham just offered up some free advice for the two on “the Ingraham Angle.”

“It’s time for some serious soul-searching by Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis,” said Ingraham.

Her advice?

Follow Vivek’s lead and step aside.

The Hill reported on Ingraham’s advice:

Fox News host Laura Ingraham called on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to drop out of the GOP primary presidential race Tuesday, arguing the White House hopeful has little to “gain” from remaining in the race, which former President Trump continues to lead the polls.

“It’s time for some serious soul-searching by Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis,” Ingraham said during “The Ingraham Angle.”

She pointed to DeSantis’s performance in Monday night’s Iowa caucuses, stating the Florida governor has “a lot to be proud of” after finishing second, slightly ahead of Haley, a former United Nations ambassador.

But DeSantis still trailed Trump by nearly 30 points in Iowa, and Ingraham argued the former president “is simply too powerful” this election cycle for DeSantis to clinch the nomination.

Is Ingraham wrong here?

I certainly don’t think she is.

DeSantis and Haley don’t stand a chance, and it’s time they get behind Trump.

The longer they ignore that truth, the more they damage their own political future:

Here is more on Ingraham’s assessment of the the remaining candidates from our friends at the Gateway Pundit:

The Fox host said that DeSantis is hurting his political future by continuing to take on the wildly popular former president.

“And every day that Ron DeSantis stays on the campaign trail criticizing Trump is a day that hurts Ron DeSantis’s political future. He doesn’t gain anything from it, that’s for sure. And Trump, he’s not hurt by it at all. So it’s time to step aside and endorse Trump,” Ingraham said.

Many have pointed out that DeSantis dropping out with give Haley a better chance.

Haley is seemingly more popular with Democrats and the media class than with actual Republican voters.

A poll conducted ahead of the Iowa caucuses by NBC News, the Des Moines Register, and Iowa pollster Selzer & Co. found that Haley supporters in Iowa are twice as likely to vote for Joe Biden as they are Donald Trump, should she not win the Republican nomination.

Vivek certainly agrees:

So does Ted Cruz:
