Fox News Anchor Tragically Passes Away At 33

Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Fox News anchor Matt Napolitano.

Napolitano worked as both a reporter and an anchor for Fox News, acting as a sports reporter for the network. Not much is currently known about the condition which caused his sudden death.

Sources say he passed away after a bout with a ‘short illness’ though no more details were shared.

One man, claiming to be a relative of Napolitano, also mentioned that he suffered from an autoimmune disorder, though this information cannot be confirmed at this time.

Both the media and those who knew Napolitano shared the tragic news and their condolences:

Matt Napolitano’s husband Ricky grieved his passing: “With a heavy heart, I have to share that my husband Matt Napolitano passed away yesterday morning. He loved his job and he loved bringing the news to your radios and televisions. An honest journalist who truly cared about facts. You can thank him for the last-minute Jets win today.”

Fox News provided coverage of just some of the media personality’s accolades:

Matt began his FOX career in 2015 as a writer for the dedicated SiriusXM news channel, “FOX News Headlines 24/7.”

There, he quickly demonstrated his strong writing, producing and on-air skills.

He later became a sports reporter for the service and further excelled in that position.

Matt returned to FOX News Audio as an update anchor and reporter following a brief departure. He wrote, produced and anchored on all FOX Audio platforms.

Colleague Guy Benson also paid his respects: “I’m stunned and so very sad to learn of the death of our Fox News Radio
colleague, Matt Napolitano. He was a great guy & appeared on the show numerous times, typically talking sports. 33 years old. My gosh. My prayers go to his family. Gut-wrenching. I can’t believe it. RIP.”

New York City Mayor Eric Adams had this to say: “Matt Napolitano had a big future ahead of him. His enthusiasm, intelligence and sense of humor—which we all saw first hand at the annual Inner Circle NY dinner—made him a great reporter. 33 is far too young. My thoughts are with his family, loved ones and colleagues tonight.”

The New York Post added:

Napolitano was an avid “Jeopardy!” fan. He achieved his lifelong dream of appearing on the show as a contestant in 2020.

He also appeared on “Wheel of Fortune” in 2016, advancing to the bonus round.
