New York Democrat Senator Accused Of Rape

New York State Senator Kevin Parker has been accused of raping a woman during relief efforts in Haiti over 20 years ago.

According to a new lawsuit, Olga Jean-Baptiste claimed that “Parker grabbed her by the wrists and raped her at his apartment.”

Governor Kathy Hochul stated, “As the information unfolds, I may have a strong opinion on that, but right now, I just want to see what else is out there.”

She followed up, “Let’s let this unfold a little bit.”

Here’s what The New York Post reported:

Gov. Kathy Hochul called the rape accusations against Brooklyn state Sen. Kevin Parker “extremely disturbing” Tuesday, but stopped short of calling for the embattled Brooklyn Democrat to step down.

“As the information unfolds, I may have a strong opinion on that but right now I just want to see what else is out there,” Hochul told reporters Tuesday. “Let’s let this unfold a little bit.”

Parker is facing rape charges from a woman who helped him coordinate relief efforts for Haiti nearly 20 years ago.

Olga Jean-Baptiste alleges in the lawsuit filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court late last week that Parker grabbed her by the wrists and raped her at his apartment.

“[Jean-Baptiste] was frozen in fear and was unable to cry out,” according to her lawsuit.

Earlier in the same week, New York City Mayor Eric Adams was also accused of sexually assaulting a woman.

Here’s what the New York Post reported:

Mayor Eric Adams has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in 1993 in a lawsuit seeking at least $5 million filed just before the deadline for the Adult Survivors Act, The Post learned Thursday.

The accuser, whom The Post is not identifying because of the nature of the allegation, named Adams as a defendant along with the NYPD’s transit bureau and Guardian Association in a lawsuit filed late Wednesday.

Adams was an NYPD officer at the time and the filing said the woman also worked for the city.

“Plaintiff was sexually assaulted by Defendant Eric Adams in New York, New York in 1993 while they both worked for the City of New York,” claims the 3-page summons, which does not give more detail on the alleged assault.

The filing alleges “sexual assault, battery and employment discrimination on the basis of the Plaintiff’s gender and sex, retaliation, hostile work environment and intentional infliction of emotional distress” — and seeks damages no less than $5 million along with attorneys’ fees.
