WATCH: Mitt Romney Says He Will Vote For Democrat Before Trump

Senator Mitt Romney has proved he’s a Republican in name only once again.

In a recent sit-down interview with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, Mitt Romney said he would support anybody over Trump.

Romney also stated, “I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans — maybe not Vivek [Ramaswamy] — but the others that are running would be acceptable to me, and I’d be happy to vote for them.”

He continued, “I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats too…It would be an upgrade, in my opinion, from Donald Trump.”

Here’s what The Hill reported:

In a CBS interview with Norah O’Donnell on Friday, the retiring senator solidified his reputation as a stalwart anti-Trump Republican, saying he would support “anybody” over Trump.

“I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans — maybe not Vivek [Ramaswamy] — but the others that are running would be acceptable to me, and I’d be happy to vote for them,” the retiring senator said Friday in an interview with CBS’s Norah O’Donnell.

“I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats too,” he continued. “It would be an upgrade, in my opinion, from Donald Trump and perhaps also from Joe Biden.”
Romney announced in September that he will not seek reelection, sparking a wave of gloating insults from Trump and his allies.

Per The New York Post:

Sen. Mitt Romney said he would vote for a Democrat over former President Trump or businessman Vivek Ramaswamy in a potential 2024 general election matchup.

“I’d be happy to support virtually any one of the Republicans, maybe not Vivek, but the others that are running would be acceptable to me and I’d be happy to vote for them,” Romney said to CBS news host Norah O’Donnell in a clip which resurfaced online Saturday.

“I’d be happy to vote for a number of the Democrats too. I mean, it would be an upgrade from, in my opinion, from Donald Trump and perhaps also from Joe Biden,” Romney added, without specifying which Democrats he had in mind.

The remarks were originally aired a month ago as part of a lengthy discussion between Romney and O’Donnell on a new book about the senator.
