Audio Of Alleged McCarthy ‘Assault’ RELEASED—Listen To It Here

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy seems to be losing it, according to multiple sources.

The representative from California is accused of assaulting Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) in a Congressional hallway by allegedly elbowing him in the kidneys.

Rep. Burchett declined to file an ethics complaint and told reporters: “I don’t think it’s OK. These ethics complaints go on for years, and he’s going to be out of here after Christmas. Like I said, he has $17 million and a security detail, and he’ll still be a bully.”

However, Rep. Matt Gaetz filed an ethics complaint in Rep. Burchett’s stead. Rep. Burchett claimed that he felt quite a bit of physical pain due to the alleged assault—it wasn’t just horseplay according to Burchett.

Kevin McCarthy has flatly denied the accusations. Here’s the released audio of the incident and more information on the story:

Fox News recounted the incident:

The alleged physical altercation occurred when Burchett was being interviewed by NPR correspondent Claudia Grisales, who recounted the ordeal in a thread on X.

As Burchett was standing in the hallway of Capitol Hill doing an interview with Grisales, the congressman recalled how “Kevin McCarthy walked by, and he elbowed me in the kidneys.”

Chuck Callesto reports: “Matt Gaetz Files ETHICS COMPLAINT against Kevin McCarthy for ASSAULTING Rep. Tim Burchett..McCarthy purportedly assaulted Burchett in the halls of congress. According to Gaetz, The incident was witnessed by multiple people.. Should McCarthy be REMOVED?”

Tim Pool remarked: “Kevin McCarthy Just ATTACKED Another GOP REP. This dude [is] having a mental breakdown over losing the speakership.”

CBS News provided this quote from Rep. Burchett:

“Four-hundred-thirty-five of us. Eight of us voted against it,” he said when asked whether the alleged elbowing could have been an accident.

“And the chances of him walking beside me and giving me an elbow in the back? Come on.”
