The effort to impeach Biden has taken the sidelines since Speaker Johnson took the House’s leadership position.
Speaker Johnson has stated that “there is insufficient evidence at the moment.”
This has left many Republicans furious at the new Speaker and wondering if Speaker Johnson will be any different than McCarthy.
BREAKING 🚨🚨
Speaker Mike Johnson will not go forward with impeachment hearings because there is:
“Insufficient evidence at the moment to initiate a formal impeachment”

The Washington Post has more on the Biden impeachment effort:
As Republican lawmakers have resumed regular business, the new speaker of the House, a former member of the Judiciary Committee where a part of the inquiry is being conducted, has staked out a different position than those leading the inquiry.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), a constitutional lawyer by training, has taken a more reserved tone, both publicly and privately, urging members to conduct a thorough and fair investigation with no predetermined outcome. In a closed-door meeting with House GOP moderates this week, he indicated that there is insufficient evidence at the moment to initiate formal impeachment proceedings, according to people who attended the meeting.
“We’ll just go where the evidence goes and we’re not there yet,” Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said, paraphrasing Johnson’s comments on the inquiry at the Republican Governance Group’s weekly lunch on Tuesday. “Most of us are saying, look, we can’t even get a single Democratic vote on this right now. I think the voters will reject what they are seeing when it comes to Biden [policies] — but high crimes and misdemeanors? I don’t think we’ve seen that or enough data to really make a good case and I feel like [Johnson] really agreed with us on that.”
ADVERTISEMENTSo far, House Republicans have not put forth any direct evidence that Biden profited from his son Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine and elsewhere, nor has the president been linked to any potential wrongdoing in the probe of the Justice Department’s investigation of his son — the two issues Republicans identified when announcing the inquiry. Republicans identified two IRS agents who alleged the administration hamstrung the DOJ’s investigation into the president’s son’s finances. But the special counsel in charge of that investigation has flatly rejected that theory, as have other investigators and witnesses involved with the case. The White House has called the inquiry a “baseless, evidence-free” stunt.
This news is very disheartening for many.

The Republican party has become the party of inaction, and it is killing us in elections.
People don’t want to vote someone into office who they think will do nothing productive.
Vanity Fair has more on the story:
The task of compiling said evidence has largely been left to James Comer, the House Oversight chairman whose lust for impeachment has not abated throughout the weeks of congressional chaos. On Wednesday, he issued subpoenas for the president’s son, Hunter Biden, and his brother, James Biden. He also requested a voluntary interview with Hallie Biden, the widow of the president’s eldest son Beau, and Melissa Cohen, Hunter’s wife. “Unlike the many lies President Biden told the American people about his family’s business schemes, bank records don’t lie,” Comer said Wednesday. “These records reveal how the Bidens sold Joe Biden around to the world to benefit the Biden family, including Joe Biden himself, to the detriment of U.S. interests.”
In response, the Biden administration has criticized Republicans for fixating on the impeachment inquiry as Congress approaches another funding cliff. “With just over a week to go until House Republicans may again thrust the country into a harmful and chaotic government shutdown, the most extreme voices in their party like James Comer are trying to distract from their repeated failures to govern,” said White House spokesperson Ian Sams. “Instead of using the power of Congress to pursue a partisan political smear campaign against the President and his family, extreme House Republicans should do their jobs.”
Let us hope that Rep. Comer and his subpoenas against the Biden family will be enough to produce impeachment evidence.
