Did Melania Trump Renegotiate Her Prenup Agreement?

Rumors are swirling that Melania Trump recently renegotiated her marriage agreement with the 45th President, but are they true? And even if they are, do the rumors portend trouble or just a regular point of business?

Unnamed sources who reportedly spoke to the New York Post allege that leaving a decent-sized trust fund for their son, Barron Trump was one of the primary motivators for the re-negotiation of her prenup.

The New York Post featured this headline: “Melania Trump ‘quietly’ renegotiated prenup with Donald ahead of potential second presidential term, legal woes: sources.”

Page Six featured the claims from the unnamed sources:

A different source told us of the new agreement, “I know that she wanted it to provide her with more money, and also — from what I understand — there’s a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.”

The first source said that the timing of the updated agreement wasn’t only because Trump, 77, could potentially serve another term, but because of his recent legal battles as well.

People Magazine, another mainstream outlet, likewise published rumors that the former First Lady was ‘distancing’ herself both physically and otherwise from the 45th President.

Left-leaning outlet Daily Beast explained: “It’s believed to be at least the third time the couple has renegotiated their prenup,” suggesting that this is something routine that has happened with regularity and not a predictive event.

However, other reports directly from the 45th President run contrary to the rumors swirling on mainstream cultural outlets.

The Trump Page responded to the rumors: “Contrary to CNN’s report, Donald and Melania’s relationship is not falling apart. A photographer who follows him around said they have a great marriage, they talk everyday, rumors are ridiculous. Barron is now 6’8″ tall, a Senior in High School.”

When asked why she had not seen much of Melania lately, President Trump told Megyn Kelly that Melania is a ‘good woman’ and only seemed to say glowing things about her. Doesn’t look like someone in deep marital trouble to me.

According to The Hill, President Trump also told Meet the Press that Melania would be coming back to the campaign trail soon:

“When it’s appropriate, but pretty soon,” Trump told incoming “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker in an interview set to air this weekend.

“Honestly, I like to keep her away from it — it’s so nasty and so mean.”

Melania Trump, 53, was notoriously private during her time in the White House and has been largely absent from campaign appearances, save for the 2024 campaign launch at their Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., last year.
