Own A Liberty Safe? Here’s Why You Aren’t So Safe…

What on Earth were they thinking?

Liberty Safe, a purportedly pro-America brand has drawn the ire and outrage of concerned Americans everywhere. In short, if you are a lover of privacy, of security, then you should likely be concerned.

According to sources, the FBI raided the home of a Liberty safe owner and the company provided the safe codes to law enforcement.

In other words, the safe wasn’t safe. I am not going to write an essay here on how Liberty Safe is a state collaborator. I think everyone reading this knows how we here at WLTR feel about that.

What I want to know is why anyone would buy a safe that had centralized controls or digital backdoors stored on a centralized server.

Judging by the level of backlash, it may be quite possible that Liberty Safe may just be the next Bud Light, Target, or Disney. Collin Rugg writes:

“We have officially found the Bud Light of gun safes. Enjoy going out of business, liberty Safe. The situation gets even worse: On August 30, 2023, the FBI raided the owner of the safe, Arkansas man Nathan Hughes who is a friend of the Hodge twins

Not only did they access his safe but the FBI also allegedly turned off his security cameras and held his girlfriend at gunpoint.”

TimCast Media founder and famed journalist Tim Pool told viewers on the TimCast IRL podcast “If you own a Liberty Safe, you are compromised.”

The Federalist provided background information on the incident that sparked the Liberty Safe backlash:

Nathan Hughes, the 34-year-old owner of the compromised Liberty gun safe, was arrested at gunpoint and charged last week with one felony and three misdemeanors related to his presence in the U.S. Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021.

During the raid on his home, the FBI ransacked his house and attempted to confiscate the firearms from his safe.

The Quartering news outlet reports: “Liberty Safe has LOCKED their replies after angry customers have been lambasting them for the last 12 hours.”

In an effort to apologize Liberty Safe issued this statement on September 5th in response to the outcry from concerned consumers.

Newsweek reports that calls to boycott the company are growing:

The backlash toward the company arrives after a continual push from consumers as they stop shopping at businesses that don’t align with their values.

The most notable recent boycotts have been waged against Bud Light and Target, as the LGBTQ+ community was featured in the brand’s ad campaigns, which triggered conservative consumers.
