WATCH: “Rich Men North Of Richmond” Writer Oliver Anthony Appears On Rogan!

Oliver Anthony’s meteoric rise to become a folk hero is incredible to watch. …

The writer and performer of “Rich Men North of Richmond” is singing the anthem of a generation, and the best part about it? He’s honest, genuine, and a real salt-of-the-earth type.

Anthony recently appeared at both Joe Rogan’s comedy club in Austin Texas and on the Joe Rogan Experience.

The rising folk-country star tackled topics ranging from the problem of the state, mental health, his music, President Trump, and the Bible.

Billboard provided this quote from the fledgling star regarding the beginnings of his musical career:

“The problem for me was I knew that I needed to do this. I procrastinated with music a long time,” he explained.

“I mean, I’m 31 and I’ve been playing guitar and singing on and off since I was a kid.

My grandma was in a band years ago and, I was like five and I used to sit with my grandma and we’d watch The Dukes of Hazzard and watch Waylon Jennings pick that guitar — I had no idea who Waylon Jennings was, but I just fell in love with that.

All I can say after watching the podcast is that I like this man even more than I did, and, in my opinion, we are watching history be made. … It’s time to take back the culture ladies and gents.

Here are some of my favorite moments from the podcast, Enjoy!

Fox News noted Anthony’s recent appearance at Rogan’s comedy club in Texas:

In between sets, Segura teased the next act, saying, “Guess what? I’ve got a special treat for you.

This doesn’t always happen, but this does happen when you come to really cool places like The Comedy Mothership.”

Revealing the identity of the surprise guest, Segura continued, “I’m going to bring on stage, right now — this is so f—ing cool — this young man has exploded in popularity, and we’ve all been blown away by this guy’s talent and we’re so lucky that we get to see it here live tonight.

The very amazingly talented Oliver Anthony, everybody! Let him hear it!”
