Did Vivek Ramaswamy Plagiarize Obama On The Debate Stage?

Vivek Ramaswamy has been saying all the right things, but the real question is does he actually mean them.

Previously, WLT reported Vivek could possibly be Obama 2.0 if you didn’t read that exclusive report, make sure to read it below:

Vivek Ramaswamy…Just Obama 2.0?

Now fast forward just two weeks later and Vivek is literally using Barack Obama's same words!

During the 2024 Fox News GOP debate Vivek stated "who the heck is this skinny guy with a funny last name and what the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage."

Users on X quickly pointed out in 2004, Barack Obama said something similar during his  speech at the DNC.

During his speech Obama referred to himself as "“a skinny kid with a funny name.”

Here's what Yahoo News reported:

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy was accused of plagiarizing one of Barack Obama’s signature speeches during his remarks onstage at Wednesday’s Republican presidential primary debate in Wisconsin.

During the debate, Mr Ramaswamy responded to a question about his political newcomer status, telling the crowd, “Let me just address the question that is on everybody’s mind at home tonight.”

“Who the heck is this skinny guy with a funny last name and what the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage?” he continued.

Observers quickly pointed out how this remark sounded similar to Barack Obama’s career-making 2004 speech as a Senate hopeful at the Democratic National Convention, a famous address where he referred to himself as “a skinny kid with a funny name.”

Biden's former Press Secretary even thought Vivek took Obama's words:

Per The Milwaukee Journal:

Did Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy steal a line from Barack Obama during the presidential primary debate in Milwaukee?

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie had no doubt about it, as did others on social media, when they heard the billionaire entrepreneur make a statement Wednesday night.

"Who the heck is this skinny guy with a funny last name? What the heck is he doing in the middle of this debate stage?" Ramaswamy said early in the debate.

Obama, speaking at the 2004 Democratic National Convention as a U.S. senator four years before he would take the White House, did in fact refer to himself as a "skinny kid with a funny name."
