Well, well, well, it looks like déjà vu might be hitting Ohio.
Remember the Maricopa kerfuffle?
Now, one might wonder, with all the advances in technology and with past successful elections, how does one of the most pivotal states in the electoral landscape end up with “hiccups” on the big day?
Let’s put it straight: Ohio had no counting hiccups in 2016.
They sailed smoothly through 2020.
But suddenly, as 2024 rolls around, their machines are having a mysterious case of the jitters?
How convenient.
What are the odds?
Do the math, folks!
Pete Zeigler, from the Summit County Board of Elections, seemed to casually brush it off, calling them “hiccups.”
But Lance Reed, the director, sings a slightly different tune, addressing issues with the scanners and even mentioning voters having problems feeding their ballots into the machine.
Can you imagine the frustration of voters who thought they’d cast their ballots only to find out there was a glitch? And let’s not forget about those orange auxiliary bags.
How many voters had to use those, and can we truly trust that each of those votes will be counted without a hitch?
What’s going on in Ohio isn’t just a minor hiccup.
It’s a glaring alarm bell for every American who believes in the sanctity of the voting process.
These aren’t just random glitches; these are potential disruptions in the democratic process, echoes of the controversies we’ve seen in places like Maricopa.
WOW.
Ballot scanners in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio have not been working for their special election today.
We need to get rid of these machines!

BREAKING: There's a statewide election in Ohio today & voting machines are malfunctioning in some areas with many incidents of ballots not properly feeding into scanners
We can eliminate all machine-related issues with elections by just switching to hand-counted paper ballots

When a state as crucial as Ohio starts having these kinds of issues, it’s not just an Ohio problem—it’s an American problem.
One would think, after all the controversies and uproars in previous elections, that ensuring functional voting machines on election day would be top priority.
But here we are again.
Another election, another machine malfunction.
We’ve seen this story before, and it’s high time we demand a clear, transparent, and foolproof voting process.
If not for ourselves, then for the very future of our democracy.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal:
In an interview at the Summit County Board of Elections, Pete Zeigler, the deputy director, said that while various polling locations experienced “hiccups” adapting to new voting machines, he did not expect these to cause any delays in the vote-counting process.
