This is Not Science Fiction, Legal “Zombie” Drug Spreading throughout LA

Remember when dangerous viral outbreaks and flesh eating drugs were mostly relegated to Hollywood?

The times have changed…

A new flesh-eating ‘zombie’ drug has taken over the streets of Los Angeles.

Zylazine is a veterinary tranquilizer used for horses and cows, and is completely legal in the United States.

The effects it has on humans however, is downright disturbing.

Also known as “Tranq,” people are using it to cut the very dangerous drug fentanyl.

The results are something out of a science-fiction movie.

Videos are spreading throughout social media, which show the aftermath.

Users of this drug are seen stumbling around, hunched over, and some with rotting flesh.

Here’s more on this LEGAL drug from Daily Mail:

Los Angeles officials are trying to stop the spread of the flesh-eating drug xylazine that has taken over the city.

The ‘zombie drug’, a veterinary tranquilizer approved in the US for cows and horses, is now flooding the illicit US drug market, with dealers often cutting it with cocaine and heroin.

But it is most often used to cut fentanyl, the lethally potent synthetic opioid that already kills tens of thousands of Americans every year.

The drug has spread to Los Angeles of late, with news crews capturing people hunched over and on the ground, strung out on the drug.

The problem, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials say, is that the drug is technically a legal substance.

The county is now desperately trying to track xylazine’s presence throughout the city, according to KTLA.

LA has become a nightmare:

The Post Millennial has more:

Though it has been used with cocaine and heroin, the report noted that it is most commonly cut with fentanyl, a lethal synthetic opioid that already claims the lives of tens of thousands of Americans every year. The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has reported that Xylazine is available on the internet, in both liquid and powder form, for as little as $6.

Anne Milgram, DEA Administrator, said: “Xylazine is making the deadliest drug threat our country has ever faced, fentanyl, even deadlier.”

“DEA has seized xylazine and fentanyl mixtures in 48 of 50 States.”
