According to a recent tweet from longtime CNN personality Don Lemon, he was informed by his agent this morning that he has been fired from the left-wing Cable News Network.

This news comes on the same day, and roughly the same time, that Tucker Carlson parted ways with Fox News.

Additionally, NBC head Jeff Shell was ousted from NBC yesterday due to an alleged ‘inappropriate relationship’ with a woman at the company. …

What is going on? Read on and you’ll see that I am not the only one wondering how all these high-profile ousters are occurring at the exact same time:

The Hill confirmed the news:

The Hill has confirmed Lemon’s exit with CNN.

“Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” Licht said.

“We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

 

Tucker fired from Fox News on the same day Don Lemon is fired from CNN … what are the odds?

Cable news is a dying form of media.

There are Twitter accounts that generate more video views and impressions than a segment on cable news. There are podcasts with larger audiences.

The show has been mired in controversy since it aired thanks to sexist comments made by Lemon on-air, and reports of his belligerent behavior towards Collins.
