WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Confronted About Husband’s Hit-and-Run Charge

A few weeks ago, Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul was involved in a hit-and-run car crash in Northern California.

On Saturday, Nancy was finally confronted about her husband being charged for the incident by a Fox News reporter.

However, Nancy dodged the journalist’s questions and relied on her staffer to defend her as she escaped into a vehicle.

Paul Pelosi is facing one misdemeanor charge for the hit-and-run.

Allegedly, he smashed into a parked Tesla and fled the scene.

NBC News has more details on the incident:

Pelosi, 86, was charged in connection with a July 3 collision “in which he allegedly struck an unoccupied parked vehicle” before leaving the scene of the crash, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

He faces one misdemeanor charge for being involved in a collision and not stopping to provide information, which carries a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine or six months in county jail, or both. He also faces a lesser charge for making an unlawful turn.

Pelosi is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 14.

The incident did not appear to have involved alcohol, and Pelosi was not arrested following the crash, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office said earlier this month.

Police found Pelosi not far from the site of the crash on July 3 in his car, which had sustained “significant damage” that was “consistent with the recent crash,” according to the sheriff.

As you may recall, this isn’t Paul Pelosi’s first time getting into trouble over a car accident.

But, unlike last time, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in this crash.

The New York Post noted:

Cops determined that alcohol was not a factor in Pelosi’s crash. Pelosi took a preliminary alcohol screening test, and it showed a blood alcohol level of 0.00 “therefore, Driving Under the Influence was ruled out,” police said.

“Mr. Paul Pelosi has personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle and assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle,” a spokesperson for the Pelosis said in a statement to The California Post.

“Speaker Pelosi will not be commenting further on this private matter,” it said.

The San Francisco-based businessman, who has been married to former House speaker for more than 60 years, was also arrested for DUI after crash in Napa County in May 2022.

At the time, the then-82-year-old had been leaving a dinner in Oakville with a longtime Democratic donor when he got into a black 2021 Porsche 911 around 10 p.m. to drive six miles to his Napa Valley country house.

Pelosi was trying to cross State Route 29 when a Jeep came down the highway and hit his car. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.082%, and he later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury.

Pelosi pleaded guilty in August 2022 and he was sentenced to five days in jail. He was ordered to pay $6,800 in fines and restitution, complete a DUI program and three years of probation.
