After the national embarrassment of his 2024 campaign with Kamala Harris, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has somehow continued to find new depths for his abysmal reputation.
In addition to the rampant immigration-related fraud in his state, Walz also attracted fierce criticism after pardoning an illegal immigrant who had been convicted of child rape.
On the federal level, however, Secretary of State Marco Rubio refused to sit idly by, as Fox News reported:Â
Rubio stepped in to terminate Tue Lue Vang’s legal status in the U.S. and ensure that Walz’s actions would not create roadblocks for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) removing him from the country.
ADVERTISEMENT“Just weeks ago, a foreign child rapist was freed to once again endanger America’s children after receiving a pardon from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz,” Rubio said. “Tue Lue Vang admitted to committing heinous crimes against a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota. He attempted to pay his victim for her silence and dismissed his acts of child abuse as a ‘minor thing.'”
“Just days before he was scheduled to be deported, the Minnesota Governor pardoned him, setting him free to endanger American families once again,” Rubio lamented.
The announcement sparked some social media praise:
👏👏👏👏thank you @SecRubio ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This presidency and administration has been very pro woman and girls safety. It's been very refreshing to see. We know that if Democrats win the next election they will reverse every protection they can. Females will again be deliberately exposed to violence and harm.

The New York Post added these details:
Vang had been granted a pardon by the Minnesota Clemency Review Commission (CRC) — headed by Walz, state Attorney General Keith Ellison and state Chief Justice Natalie Hudson — erasing his criminal conviction and shielding him from automatic deportation.
The predator had been arrested in 2005 and copped to repeatedly assaulting the girl, blaming cultural norms for his conduct.
