‘80s Star Corey Feldman Rushed To Hospital After Medical Emergency Aboard Plane

The star of “Goonies” and other 1980s films was reportedly transported to a Los Angeles hospital after receiving an examination from a doctor aboard the flight he was on when he began experiencing a medical crisis.

According to sources, Corey Feldman appeared to be exhibiting symptoms of pancreatitis or gallstones, though the Daily Caller noted that an official diagnosis had not been made public:

Medics reportedly met Feldman at the gate when the plane landed, and rushed him to the hospital in an ambulance.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed they responded to a call for a patient experiencing a medical emergency at the airport and transported a 54-year-old man to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment, according to TMZ. The outlet also reported that the patient was confirmed to be Feldman, and noted he is still undergoing tests and remains in the care of medical professionals.

Feldman shared a gallery of images and video footage on his official Instagram page June 14, and appeared to be in good spirits. The post highlighted his stop in Gary, Indiana, as part of an ongoing 40th anniversary tour for the film “Stand By Me” with co-stars Wil Wheaton and Jerry O’Connell.

Social media reaction included a mix of well-wishers and discussions of the entertainer’s unusual antics in recent years:

Here’s what Page Six added:

He, along with co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton, attended “Stand By Me: The Film and Its Stars 40 Years Later” at The Chicago Theatre Sunday night.

Their co-star River Phoenix died of a drug overdose on Halloween 1993 at just 23 years old.

Late Sunday night, Feldman shared a carousel of photos and videos to Instagram of him driving to Chicago for the event — stopping by Michael Jackson’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana, on the way — and of the event itself.

He noted that the impromptu visit to Jackson’s house happened to closely coincide with the 10th anniversary of the King of Pop’s death, noting it was his way to “pay respects” to the late singer.

Jackson died at the age of 50 after suffering a heart attack caused by a drug overdose on June 25, 2009.

“We’re on our way to Chicago to tear it up,” Feldman, who competed on “Dancing With the Stars” last fall but was eliminated first, said in a video. “Gonna be a great night. Lots of people coming — thousands.”

Here’s an in-depth exploration of Feldman’s career and often tragic life story that followed his early Hollywood fame:
