6x Masters Champ Addresses Serious Allegations That Got Him Kicked Out Of His Club

Golfer Phil Mickelson has made plenty of headlines on the links, but the latest coverage has been focused on what he allegedly did while at the club.

An employee of The Farms Golf Club, where Mickelson has long played, reportedly accused him of making “nonconsensual and inappropriate” advances.

As the Daily Caller reported, it didn’t take long for staff to take action against the high-profile member:

“The Farms Golf Club is committed to maintaining a golf club environment that is safe, respectful and reflects the highest standards of conduct,” said the club while speaking with Golf Digest. “All members are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct, and any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously. Following a staff member report of member misconduct, the Club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a thorough independent investigation of the incident and took decisive action. This individual is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club.

“The Farms conducts thorough reviews of all reported matters according to California Law and takes appropriate action when warranted, consistent with our commitment to integrity, excellence and accountability. To protect the safety and privacy of our staff and members, we are unable to speak further on this matter. We appreciate your understanding.”

The allegations against Mickelson are happening months following him missing The Masters Tournament because of a “personal health matter.” At that time, a brief statement was given by Mickelson where he indicated disappointment over not competing in The Masters.

In both of golf’s majors here in 2026, Mickelson hasn’t competed. In LIV Golf, he’s only played in one tournament, taking place in mid-March where he finished T-48 at LIV South Africa.

The controversy has fueled plenty of social media intrigue:

But Mickelson and his legal team aren’t staying quiet, as the New York Post reported:

Mickelson, 55, has retained prominent defamation attorney Tom Clare, who says video evidence contradicts the claims.

“There is a great deal of misinformation circulating and, while Phil’s full attention is devoted to a private family health matter, he has retained defamation counsel and is determined to hold accountable any publication or individual trafficking in speculation or false rumors,” Clare said in a statement to Golf Digest.

The allegation reportedly led to Mickelson being immediately removed from the club’s grounds and stripped of his longtime membership.

Farms Golf Club told Golf Digest it conducted a thorough investigation before confronting Mickelson and stands by its decision to revoke his membership.
