Undeterred by the stonewalling and opposition his efforts are receiving from blue-state leaders, Tom Homan recently confirmed that he’ll soon be sending a large wave of immigration enforcement officers to deal with the ongoing crisis in New York.
Homan, who serves as the Trump administration’s border czar, made the comments this week during an appearance on Fox News.
Breitbart provided this relevant portion of the transcript:
Homan replied, “No, I’m going to keep my promise to Governor Hochul. I met with Governor Hochul a couple of months ago. I explained to her how we dealt with Minnesota, right? If we can work with the sheriffs and arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of a jail, that means less teams into the neighborhoods, which causes a lot of panic, a lot of problems, right? I said, but if you sign the legislation that I think you’re getting about ready to sign, that means I’m going to send more agents to New York, because now rather than one guy arresting one bad guy in a jail, now we’ve got to send a whole team into the neighborhood to find this person that didn’t want to be found, because the officer safety reasons, you know? Now we’ve got to arrest this guy in his turf, he has access to no-op weapons.”
ADVERTISEMENT“I told her, it’s safer for the community, it’s safer for the officers, it’s safer for the aliens to have these cooperations with the jails,” he continued. “She signed the legislation anyway. So I made her a promise. You’re going to see more ICE agents you’ve ever seen in New York City, and it’s coming. I just reviewed an operational plan. I’m not going to tell you exactly when it’s going to happen, but it’s coming. I’m keeping my promise. We’re going to send more ICE agents to New York, because you took away the efficiencies of safe arrests in county jails.”
His latest vow sparked significant social media discussion:

Here’s what Hochul said to directly contradict Homan’s promise:

If you don’t want to watch the whole video, she essentially claims that Homan is “going in a different direction” than the White House.
President Trump “told me to my face … we’re not going where we’re not welcome,” Hochul asserted.
The Post Millennial added these details, suggesting Homan is speaking with the authority to act on his promise:
The bill that was signed by Hochul last month bans federal authorities from using public state and local facilities for immigration enforcement. In addition, the bill prohibits ICE officers from wearing masks.
ADVERTISEMENTHoman had warned that if New York were to bring the legislation, that the Trump administration would surge more ICE officers to New York, similarly to what has been done in places such as Minneapolis and Portland.
“If we can work with the sheriffs and arrest the bad guy in the safety and security of the jail, that means less teams into the neighborhoods, which causes a lot of panic, a lot of problems, right?” Homan

– Most violent protesters attacking officers and damaging property at the detention facility are paid, out-of-state agitators from places like Portland and Minnesota, not local peaceful demonstrators.
