Dr. Oz Has a Blunt Answer for Reporter Asking Why President Trump Keeps Getting Checkups

President Trump keeps walking into medical exams and keeps walking out with strong numbers, and at least one reporter wanted to know why he bothers going back so often.

The answer came from CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz at the White House briefing on June 2, 2026.

The question was the usual setup. If the president is in such good health, why does he keep returning to his doctors for more checkups?

Oz did not flinch.

He said Trump likes the results, does really well, and aces the test every single day. He added that the president is meticulous and wants to know all of his numbers.

That is not a man hiding from his doctors. That is a man who treats his health like he treats everything else, by checking the numbers and staying on top of it.

The skepticism is familiar. Reporters who spent years pretending Joe Biden was sharp now want to interrogate why a healthy president keeps getting checked out.

The published numbers do not help their story.

The latest physical was done at Walter Reed, and the released physician memo said Trump remains in excellent health and fully fit for duty.

The reported details back that up.

Trending Politics reported Oz’s answer this way:

While speaking during a White House press briefing on Tuesday, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz responded to a reporter’s inquiry about the frequency of President Donald Trump’s medical evaluations.

“If the president is in such perfect health, why does he keep going back in for checkups?” the reporter asked.

“I think he likes the results. He does really well.”

“He aces the test every single day. I do actually believe that he is curious to make sure everything is going in the right direction,” Dr. Oz responded.

“He’s a very meticulous person in so many ways that are often under appreciated. But for him to want to know all the numbers and keep on top of him, it’s the same reason he calls people at you know, odd hours because something’s on his mind. He wants to deal with it.”

According to coverage of the memo from CBS News, the exam showed strong cardiovascular and overall results.

The reported figures included a cardiac age roughly 14 years younger than his chronological age.

Blood pressure came in at 105/71, with a resting heart rate of 73 and oxygen saturation at 98 percent.

Cardiac testing was reported as normal, and a cognitive screening came back at 30 out of 30.

Those are not borderline numbers. They are the kind of results a president would want released.

That is the point Oz was making. Trump goes back because he likes seeing the scores, not because anyone is covering for him.

The double standard writes itself. When the numbers are weak, the press looks away.

When the numbers are strong, the press wants to know why a man keeps proving it.

Trump answered that question the easiest way possible, by acing the test and putting the results in front of the country.
