‘I Want More’: Homan Says Deportations Are ‘Slightly Down,’ But ‘There’s A Plan’

President Donald Trump’s second term has been marked by a stunning reversal of the Biden era’s open-borders policies, with illegal immigration grinding to a halt and border czar Tom Homan making it clear that the law would once again be enforced.

As time went on, the fast-and-furious pace of deportations has slowed somewhat, but Homan says he’s still laser-focused on the mission at hand.

The Daily Caller reported on his latest remarks:

“Numbers are slightly down, but there’s a plan. Get them back up and even higher,” Homan told the Examiner.

“Am I happy with the numbers right now? No, I want more, too. Even though numbers are historic, I want more,” he added.

DHS pushed back on the idea that immigration enforcement is slowing, telling the Daily Caller News Foundation that the second Trump administration has removed more than three million illegal immigrants from the country.

“Since Day One, DHS law enforcement has been delivering on President Trump’s promise to make America safe again,” a DHS spokesperson told the DCNF. “Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S. More than 3 million illegal aliens are out of the country and counting. Our message is clear: if you come to our country illegally, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you. ICE is NOT slowing down.”

Homan has proven to be an effective messenger of Trump’s immigration policy thus far into the term, as he promised to a crowd four years ago:

Trump supporters on social media have frequently expressed their admiration for Homan’s handling of the border:

Newsmax had more from Homan’s recent interview:

The Trump administration is also preparing new legal action against sanctuary jurisdictions, according to Homan.

“I’ve been fighting sanctuary cities for the last 20 years,” Homan said. “I think we’ve got an … acting attorney general now that’s going to take it seriously.”

ICE officers arrested multiple illegals over the weekend who had been convicted of violent crimes including child rape, assault, and drug trafficking, according to a Newsmax exclusive.

DHS said the arrests come as the Trump administration continues to intensify immigration enforcement operations targeting migrants with criminal convictions.
