Like most big-city mayors across America, Boston’s Michelle Wu has supported some outrageous, far-left positions during her time in public office.
One of her policies appears to now be coming back to bite her after OUTnewcomers, the recipient of a grant from the Wu administration, is accused of doling that cash out in the form of “wellness” perks reserved for migrants who identify as LGBT.
As Fox News reported, the mayor’s office has denied the grant money was approved for that use:
“No funds have been distributed or directed for these purposes. This organization received a $7,500 grant through a City program to support mental health services. Those funds were not designated for and may not be used for the voucher program referenced,” a spokesperson for the city told Fox News Digital.

The dispute highlights conflicting claims about what the “Belonging Matters” program actually offered and whether any city-backed funding was tied to those benefits, drawing scrutiny over how Boston distributes and oversees grants to outside advocacy groups.
OUTnewcomers is listed as one of 45 recipients of a larger $200,000 push to support LGBTQ communities in Boston. The $200,000 figure was approved by Wu last year as a part of the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement (MOLA).
According to Boston officials, OUTnewcomers was awarded a $7,500 mini-grant allocated from the 2026 budget. The city has not green-lighted grant funding or cash assistance.
“These investments represent our continued dedication to uplifting LGBTQ+ Bostonians by putting resources directly into the hands of trusted community organizations,” Wu said in a press release at the time.
The mayor’s office declined to answer questions about what the $7,500 fund had originally been approved for.
But as the Trump administration pursues government waste and fraud nationwide, Wu’s claims of innocence appear to be falling on deaf ears:

That's OK, Boston's woke mayor will just turn more criminals loose to prey on the citizens, claiming that Boston doesn't have already have enough of the taxpayers' money to prosecute criminals!

It’s just the latest complaint against the mayor regarding bias in the distribution of grant funds:
“$35 million in grants were given to more than 1,500 small businesses — more than 70% of them owned by people of color.”
That was Boston Mayor Michelle Wu.
Less than 30% went to white-owned businesses.

The New York Post also covered Wu’s latest controversy:
Boston’s woke Mayor Michelle Wu is funding a new program that gives “queer and trans” migrants up to $500 for massages, yoga classes and creative healing — despite the city being crushed by a nearly $50 million deficit.
The so-called “wellness allowances” are being handed out by a nonprofit called OUTnewcomers and is backed by the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement, the group revealed Wednesday.
“We’re offering $250–$500 wellness allowances for LGBTQ+ migrants in Boston to support their mental health and well-being through non-clinical care including yoga, meditation, creative healing, peer support, hair salon/ acupuncture & massages appointments and gym memberships etc.,” an advertisement blasted out by the group reads.
“Project: ‘Belonging Matters’ is our way of saying: you deserve rest, healing, and community. Many LGBTQ+ migrants carry trauma, isolation, and survival on their shoulders often without access to care.”
The vouchers range from $250 to $500, and can only be used in Boston — with priority given to “low-income, isolated queer and trans migrant, asylum seekers and refugees,” the group said.
But the identity-politics-driven mayor’s big-spending policies had plenty of critics even before this scandal broke, as evidenced by the reception she received during an appearance at the Red Sox opening day ceremony:
