Democrats are at it again.
House Democrats have officially filed articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
The effort is being led by freshman Rep. Yassamin Ansari out of Arizona — who also happens to be the first Iranian-American Democrat ever elected to Congress.
Let that sink in for a moment.
The first Iranian-American Democrat in Congress is leading the charge to remove the man overseeing U.S. military operations against Iran.
Ansari made the announcement on X:
The resolution lays out six articles of impeachment, accusing Hegseth of everything from “unauthorized war” to “war crimes” to “obstruction of congressional oversight.”
It has zero chance of passing the Republican-controlled House.
Absolutely zero.
AZ Family had the details:
Arizona Democratic Representative Yassamin Ansari has filed six articles of impeachment against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, accusing him of violating his oath of office and constitutional duties.
The six articles include unauthorized war against Iran and reckless endangerment of United States servicemembers, violations of the law of armed conflict and targeting of civilians, negligence and reckless handling of sensitive military information, obstruction of congressional oversight, abuse of power and politicization of the armed forces, and conduct bringing disrepute upon the United States and its armed forces.
The filing is backed by 11 additional Democratic representatives from multiple states including Delaware, Illinois, Texas, Tennessee, Nevada, California, Michigan, and New Mexico.
Six articles. Eleven co-sponsors. And still not a single Republican on board.
CBS News reporter Scott MacFarlane shared Ansari’s statements on the push:
Now here’s where it gets good.
The Pentagon fired back — and they did not hold back.
Fox News reported on the response:
Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson dismissed the effort, stating Ansari is “just another Democrat trying to make headlines” while military operations proceed successfully.
“Secretary Hegseth will continue to protect the homeland and unleash epic fury on Iran’s radical regime. This is just another charade in an attempt to distract the American people from the major successes we have had here at the Department of War.”
The Trump administration recently conducted two “daring and successful” rescue operations, including retrieving an airman shot down by Iranian forces over the weekend.
“Unleash epic fury.”
That’s a direct quote from the Pentagon. Not a movie trailer.
Meanwhile, this impeachment effort needs a two-thirds majority in the Senate to actually remove Hegseth from office.
It’s not even going to get a vote in the House.
Brian Allen summed up where things stand:
Democrats can file all the paperwork they want. At the end of the day, Hegseth isn’t going anywhere — and the Pentagon just told them exactly what they think about it.
