UPDATE: Trump Considering Further Leadership Adjustments Affecting Two Senior Positions

Reports emerged Friday indicating that Donald Trump is weighing additional adjustments to his Cabinet, following his recent decision to remove Pam Bondi from her role as Attorney General.

Over the past month, two senior officials have already been dismissed.

Bondi was removed on Thursday from her position as U.S. Attorney General, while Kristi Noem was also let go from her role leading the Department of Homeland Security.

According to reports, Trump’s decision to fire Bondi was tied to concerns about her management of the Epstein-related files, along with broader dissatisfaction with her performance.

Noem’s dismissal reportedly followed controversy surrounding a $200 million advertising agreement, along with allegations that she misled Congress by stating the arrangement had Trump’s approval.

Further shakeups could still be on the horizon. Coverage from Politico and The Washington Post suggests that Howard Lutnick and Lori Chavez-DeRemer may also face possible removal.

Sources indicate that Trump is considering additional Cabinet changes ahead of the midterm elections, particularly as a precaution in the event Republicans lose control of the Senate.

Meanwhile, CBS News reported Saturday that Harmeet Dhillon is expected to receive a promotion.

At the same time, Stanley Woodward, currently holding the number three position within the Department of Justice, is reportedly set to be demoted.

Sources told CBS News on Saturday that Donald Trump is expected to move forward with additional leadership shifts at the Department of Justice, potentially impacting two senior positions.

Those under consideration include Stanley Woodward, currently serving as the department’s third-ranking official, and Harmeet Dhillon.

According to individuals familiar with the matter, internal conversations have centered on elevating Dhillon into a higher-ranking post within the department, while Woodward could be reassigned to a lesser role. However, it remains uncertain whether any final determinations have been made.

These reported discussions follow closely on the heels of Trump’s recent decision to remove Pam Bondi earlier in the week, a move reportedly driven by dissatisfaction over her approach to pursuing criminal cases involving his political opponents.

The Washington Post also published its own report outlining the potential for another round of Cabinet-level changes.

“After ousting two of his highest-profile Cabinet members from their posts, President Donald Trump is considering making more changes to his administration’s top leadership, according to advisers — a decision that would accelerate the once-slow pace of his second-term staff departures,” WaPo reported.
