Jonathan Cahn: The world just discovered to its horror that the striking range of Iran’s missiles is twice as far as they thought before. Meaning Iran can strike Europe with nuclear missiles. Could there be a mystery behind what’s happening in Iran that goes back to a mysterious figure from ancient times? Is it possible that what’s behind all this is actually the Antichrist?

And again, it’s centering on Iran. Iran is a terror state behind Hamas, behind Hezbollah, behind the Houthis, behind October 7th, and it’s seeking the powers to use the powers of nuclear destruction. It is Israel’s archenemy and America’s archenemy. It poses a threat to the world.

Could there be a mystery behind it? There is. And it’s called the Mahdi. Now, you may never heard of this before, but it’s real important that you know the Mahdi. Who’s the Mahdi or what is the Mahdi? The Mahdi is key in Islamic belief.

And yet, most Christians have no idea about this at all. The Mahdi, it literally means the guided one in Arabic. According to Islamic belief, the Mahdi, this person named the Mahdi is to appear in the last days near the end of the age.

He’s to come as a warring figure. He’s to fight. He is to, according to Islamic belief, he will rule. He will unite Islam into one. He will unite the world as one and prepare the world for the day of judgment.

Now there are two branches of Islam. Sunni and Shia or Shiite or Shia and there’s some variation in the belief of the Mahdi. Sunni Islam, Sunni Muslims believe that he’s going to simply appear at the end of the age.

But the Shiites believe he was here. He’s been hidden now and he’s coming back. In other words, he’ll come at the end of the age. It will be his second coming. They believe he is the 12th Imam, the final one risen up by God.

And the Shiites especially focus on the Mahdi. He’s more central to their belief. They believe he’s going to reign over the earth, bringing a one world government. And they call him the one who will rise.

When do they believe he’s going to come? In the last days when there is chaos throughout the nations. Chaos, wars, chaos. What does this have to do with what’s happening now? Well, the key Shiite power in the world is called Iran.

Iran fully zealously believes in the Mahdi and the coming of the Mahdi. This is talking about the Iranian government, not everybody there. Iran wove the belief of the Mahdi into its government. Its government has its supreme leader.

Its first supreme leader Ayatollah Khomeini was known as the representative of the Mahdi. And he commanded the members of Iran’s government to offer their services to, quote, “the lord of the age, the Mahdi.” The leaders of Iran regularly give homage to the Mahdi.

One of its presidents said, “The Lord of the Age, the Mahdi, will bring about a world government.” The former president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said that Iran has no other mission but to prepare for the establishment of a world government as the Mahdi runs and manages the world or the universe.

Leaders of Iran have called Mahdiism the defining strategy of Iran, the Islamic Republic. And so every supreme leader, including the one who was just killed and Khamenei and his son right now is considered, deemed, reckoned as the representative of the Mahdi, the deputy of the Mahdi.

They believe the coming of the Mahdi will be accelerated by their actions. And by the way, the belief in the Mahdi was part of what led to the founding of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is linked to al-Qaeda and 9/11.

Believers in the Mahdi believe that the Mahdi will wage war against unbelievers. They themselves are at war and by doing so prepare the way for the coming of the Mahdi to come and conquer the world.

The president of Iran declared that Iran is to be the instrument for the appearing, bringing about the appearing of the Mahdi at the end of the age. And part of that preparing of the Mahdi preparing the world for Iran means the destruction of Israel.

When Ahmadinejad openly stated that Iran was intending to destroy Israel, the leaders above him told him, “Keep it quiet. This is our plan, but we have to hide it.” So Iran is not like other nations because it’s ruled by a radical Shiite government representing this thing, this being, this figure called the Mahdi.

And it sees its role as bringing the second coming of the Mahdi into the world. And how does this happen? Since the Mahdi is supposed to come at a time of chaos and wars. So if Iran can trigger wars and chaos, they’re helping the Mahdi come.

Terrorism, that’s part of preparing the way for the Mahdi. Getting nuclear capabilities, that’s preparing the way for the Mahdi. Threatening the world, that is preparing the way. Destroying Israel if they could, that would be to them preparing the way for the Mahdi.

The Mahdi makes them especially dangerous because most other nations, they go by self-interest. In other words, they would not want to be destroyed. The Soviet Union was evil and dangerous but it did not want to be destroyed, so with China.

But Iran is different because it’s their belief that in the Mahdi, the threat of destruction doesn’t necessarily move them. So when Trump threatens these things, it doesn’t necessarily move them because they believe it can be okay even if Iran is destroyed or the nation is, if it ushers in the reign of the Mahdi.

When Iran was attacked, what did it do? It started firing missiles into its neighboring countries, Arabic countries, who were neutral, not even against it. It started firing on oil ships, endangering the world’s oil supply. It doesn’t really care.

A fire toward Jerusalem, toward the Temple Mount, which could have destroyed not only the wall, the Temple Mount, or even the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, it could have destroyed the Dome of the Rock. I mean, they believe they did it so that Israel would be blamed.

It would ignite a holy war. They don’t care. And that’s what makes them so dangerous. And that’s what is affecting the world right now. This is what the world’s been dealing with for years with Iran.

And not only because there’s a radical Islamic government, not only because it’s in effect a terrorist government, a terrorist state, but because of the Mahdi. Behind the threat of war, the Mahdi; behind nuclear destruction, the Mahdi; behind the higher prices you’re paying at the gas pump, the Mahdi.

Now, you may have noticed something. The Bible foretells that in the last days there will be a ruler who rises, one who rises, who fights, who conquers, who reigns over the world in a one world government called the Antichrist or the beast.

Interesting because the Mahdi appears very similar to this. First, his rule is like a takeoff, a spin on the rule of Messiah. The prophecy of Messiah. But that’s what Islam does. It takes what’s in the Bible, bends it out of recognition.

And so you have the coming of a savior, but it’s the Mahdi. And he comes to deliver the Islamic people. Messiah is going to come to deliver Israel and believers. He comes at a time of chaos. The Mahdi, well, Messiah will, and Messiah will rule over the earth.

So they believe the Mahdi will. Do you know that is actually Islamic belief that the Mahdi will rule for seven years? Seven years, the very time period given in the Bible for the tribulation period before the coming of Messiah in Daniel for the Antichrist.

It says that the Antichrist or the prince will make a covenant for one seven or seven years. And so here it says that this is the reign of the Mahdi. What is this a setup for? The Muslims are waiting for a man to rise.

Certainly the Shiites are, to bring about a one world government to reign for seven years. That’s exactly what the Antichrist is going to do. What a perfect setup to have over two billion people in the world accept the Antichrist right away.

That’s one quarter of the world’s population. And what does Antichrist mean? It’s one who is against the Christ or the Messiah, but also one who is instead of or a substitute of, an imitation of. And that’s what this is all about.

Now, it’s going to get even crazier and it shows how much Islam simply takes from the Scriptures and gets it all confused and mixed up. Do you realize that Islam also believes that Jesus is coming? That’s what all this is based on.

Do you know that they recognize he’s coming but they have to add in their own savior, their Islamic savior, their Mahdi, their Shiite savior, or the substitute messiah? But on top of that, on top of that, it’s how crazy it gets.

They also realize that the Bible speaks of the Antichrist, so they will not of course call him that necessarily, they will not link that to the Mahdi, but they have another figure they call the Dajjal.

And the Dajjal, according to them, is a false messiah who gets defeated. But the Mahdi, according to their belief, rises before the coming of Jesus. Who else rises before the coming of Jesus? The Antichrist.

So they believe that some guy is going to get defeated who is false, but then they’ll accept the next one who comes, the Mahdi, as the messiah or the savior. And yet it matches up with the Antichrist.

And actually some streams of Islamic belief, they speak of Jesus reigning, but the intense Mahdi streams in Iran speak of the Mahdi is going to reign after that for the kingdom. Now to get even more crazy, it’s the Islamic belief in the end times and the Mahdi.

They believe in an enemy who’s going to rise up called Gog and Magog. That sound familiar? Gog and Magog. It’s from the Bible. Book of Revelation has it. And the book of Ezekiel 38 and 39.

When it talks about an alliance of nations coming to destroy Israel. Now, in the belief of Mahdiism, they believe that Gog and Magog are evil and will be defeated. But in Ezekiel 38-39, it specifically identifies one nation in Hebrew that’s going to be linked to Gog and Magog called Paras or Parsa or Persia or Iran.

So even though Iran identifies Gog and Magog as evil in the last days, the Bible says they’re going to be allied with Gog and Magog in the last days in an invasion to come against Israel.

Behind Iran is the Mahdi and the Mahdi is linked to the Antichrist simply by all those parallels. Could the spirit of the Antichrist even now be moving in the world to prepare the way for his coming and using Iran?

What all this has happened has made the prophecy of Ezekiel in the Bible all the more likely, all the more close to coming true because the prophecy has Iran striking Israel, which never happened until recent years.

And now those in Iran who believe the Mahdi will be even more radicalized now after this to strike Israel if they’re not removed from power for destruction. And during this time, Vladimir Putin of Russia, whom many identify as Gog, proclaimed his allegiance to Iran.

If America can strike Iran and along with Israel can strike Iran, then Russia can argue, Putin can argue, “Well, we have the right to strike Israel with Iran.” And that’s Ezekiel 38 and 39.

And on top of all that, the Bible identifies an ancient entity that is at war with Israel to stop the purposes of God for Israel, particularly linked to the connected to the last days, the end times.

It’s a demonic entity in the Bible that fights against the angelic being Gabriel. When Gabriel is going to bring the prophet Daniel a prophetic word concerning Israel and the end times, that entity tries to stop that is called the Sar Paras.

Sar means ruler or lord or master and Paras is the ancient word for Persia or Iran. So the Bible says that behind the nation of Iran is this spirit that seeks to come against Israel.

Isn’t that amazing? That’s why Iran is so obsessed with destroying Israel. And the fact that among the Shiites there, they believe in the Mahdi, it makes them so dangerous.

And now you have the rise of this Shiite power in the last days of Iran trying to prepare the way for the Mahdi. It’s all a setup. The Bible clearly says that in the last days, Iran is going to be a player coming against Israel in the last days.

And if the Mahdi is the one who instead of the Christ or Messiah, you know, he’s the one who’s the imitation, that would make him an Antichrist or the Antichrist. Iran sees its mission to prepare the way for him.

That would be like preparing the way for the Antichrist. And Iran just released a video, going to show it to you, showing vengeance coming on America. And so let me roll that.

Okay. So this is threatening destruction to America and using all the past of America that they would see as America’s sins. And notice what they have on the Statue of Liberty. It’s a bull’s head. That’s Baal, you know, and it’s about vengeance here.

So when you see all these things happening in the Middle East and the world, you’re seeing biblical things, you’re seeing prophetic things, you’re seeing end time things, and the pieces of the chess game being moved into place.

Now, who would think that end time prophecy would be affecting the prices you’re paying at the gas station or could be behind it? That could be behind what’s happening at the gas pump is this thing called the Mahdi or the Antichrist.

What is the word for you? What do you do? What do we need to do? What do we need to know and do? I’m going to bring this home to you in a moment with a message about that for you and for us and what we need to do before that quick last updates.

Okay. The last days are going to be the days of the Antichrist. We know that. And here you’ve got Iran as an agent of the Mahdi. And the Mahdi is matching up with the Antichrist. That would make him a substitute messiah, an anti-messiah.

And the Dajjal another imitation of messiah altogether. This is happening right now and Iran, it’s not only Iran but the Muslim world generally believes in the Mahdi. And then you’ve got the secular West which, in driving Messiah out of its culture, is creating a vacuum for the anti-messiah with an anti-Christian culture.

And so you can already see the spirit of the Antichrist in the world in our culture. The last days will be days of the Antichrist. But the Antichrist is an imitation. If you’re born again, you don’t have the imitation.

You’ve got the real thing. There’s only one and true real thing, truth. Hold on to that. Hold strong. That is Messiah. That is Jesus. That is Yeshua. Be confident in that. He’s the real thing.

And the most powerful thing you can do is to follow him. Live as if he was actually your Lord, your King right now, because he is. That means you’re living in the kingdom now.

Living as if because he’s the king of your life now. It’ll come on earth after, but you’re in the kingdom. That means you go with his will above your will. That means you go with his plan above your plan.

That means you live for him, not yourself. And you glorify him and you spread the gospel. You advance the kingdom. Now, he is stronger than all the imitations and all the Antichrists in the world. And here’s a word for you.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. This is from the Lord. Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God is going to be with you wherever you go. And lastly from First Corinthians, be on your guard.
