As the WLT Report previously covered, on Tuesday, President Trump revealed that the United States was offered a very “big present” from Iran.
Trump on Tuesday noted that Iranian officials offered the U.S. a very big gift that was worth a lot of money, but did note it was not nuclear-related.
Now, during his Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Trump revealed the big present was oil.
Fox News provided Trump’s full comments on the present:
President Donald Trump revealed that the “present” from Iranian negotiators was them allowing at least eight oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week.
Trump said Thursday that the boats passing through the Strait was a sign to the U.S. that the negotiators were demonstrating, “we’re real and solid.”
The tankers may have been Pakistani-flagged, said Trump, who first hinted at the “present” this week.
“I said, ‘Well, I guess we’re dealing with the right people,'” Trump continued. “And actually they then apologized for something they said, and they said, we’re going to send two more boats.”

NBC News reported more on Trump’s comments during his Cabinet meeting:
The president today told his Cabinet that Iranian leaders “are begging to make a deal.”
“Not me,” he added. “They’re begging to make a deal, and anybody that saw what was happening over there would understand why they want to make a deal.”
“I don’t know if we’ll be able to do that, I don’t know if we’re willing to do that,” Trump added, repeating what he has told NBC News previously. “They should have done that four weeks ago. They should have done it two years ago, or they should have done it when we first came into office.”
ADVERTISEMENTTrump’s remarks come days after the U.S. delivered a 15-point peace plan to Iran via Pakistan, which Iranian leaders said they “responded negatively” to.
